Notice! Spoilers for the Outlander books and season 7 ahead!
Outlander Season 7 saw Jamie and Claire reunited again, but the series' next big reunion will be much better. This Starz fantasy hinged on Jamie and Claire being separated and reunited, with the crossed-lovers angle brought in at every turn. It seems like this couple is constantly having to fight against fate, time, and space to be together, and that made the moments when they finally returned to each other's arms all the more meaningful. However, as this same plot in Outlander gets a little worn out, another big reunion will serve as the emotional backbone of the series.
In Outlander Season 7, Claire and Jamie were once again separated when the former returned to the American colonies without her husband. The news that Jamie had been lost at sea was a bit tiring for audiences, as it was clearly only a matter of time before he came out of the woodwork, alive and well. For sure, Outlander Season 7 Episode 11 saw Jamie return, and it was certainly a dramatic reunion. Still, as much as these two have been separated and reunited, it hasn't meant as much as it once did. Brianna and Claire's next reunion will be a different story.
Brianna and Roger will return to the 18th century in Outlander
A big meeting is on the way
Brianna and Roger have been in the 20th century for several years, but the Outlander the books dictate that they will return to the 18th century to reunite with Jamie and Claire. In Outlander In season 7, a man named Rob Cameron kidnapped Brianna and Roger's son, Jemmy, with the aim of finding hidden Jacobite gold. After recovering Jemmy, things will only get more dangerous for the MacKenzies in the 20th century, and they will eventually determine that they will be safer if they make the trip back to the past. Naturally, this will result in one of the most exciting meetings in the world. Outlander series.
Jamie and Claire haven't seen Brianna and Roger since Mandy was born
Claire will be thrilled to meet her granddaughter after all these years
Jamie and Claire reunited after being apart for just a few months in Outlander Season 7 – Relatively short compared to its previous stints. This, combined with the fact that there have been dozens of meetings of this type in Outlandersignificantly lessened the impact of the moment. Jamie and Claire's reunion with Brianna, Roger and their kids, on the other hand, will be a much bigger deal. The MacKenzies traveled to the 20th century when their daughter Mandy was just born and from Outlander Season 7, the girl is about five or six years old.
Although Brianna received the letters her parents left for her, Jamie and Claire have had no way of knowing if their daughter and her family are okay. They don't even know if little Mandy survived the surgical procedure she traveled back in time to receive. So, the moment this family comes together again on screen will be full of emotion. Jamie and Claire don't really know their granddaughterand reuniting with Jemmy, Brianna and Roger will be equally important. This is a moment to look forward to Outlander– much more than another Jamie and Claire reunion.
Outlander Season 8 will have to break new ground for Brianna and Roger's story
Brianna and Roger's ending is undetermined
While the Outlander books reveal that Brianna and Roger return to the 18th century, the end of their stories has not yet been written. Author Diana Gabaldon has not yet completed her book series, and both she and Outlanderthe showrunners confirmed that Season 8 will have a different ending than the next novels. So while Brianna and Roger's stories may follow a specific trajectory in the books, their adventures may not follow the same path in the TV series. Ultimately, this means that virtually anything is possible Outlander approaches its final season.
It can be assumed that the Outlander the series will bring Roger and Brianna back to the past, just like in the books, and an emotional reunion will be seen on screen. From there, we can expect the series to continue the plot that began in previous episodes. Brianna was created to be the key in the “200 year old baby“prophecy, and Your children's psychic connection and deep understanding of time travel should also come into play. There may be a powerful ending on the way for these Outlander characters. For now, though, an emotional reunion is the next big step.
