Outer Banks tragically confirms that Season 5’s new treasure hunt will be completely different from the last 4 years

Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers for Outer Banks Season 4, Part 2.

External Banks The tragic and controversial ending of Season 4, Part 2 lays the groundwork for a season that will be completely different from anything the series has done before. Netflix’s action-adventure teen drama series, created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke, follows a group of teenagers (the Pogues from Outer Banks) who constantly find themselves in trouble and hunting for treasure. Unfortunately, the end of External Banks season 4 features a devastating death that will completely change the course of the series for its fifth and final season.

External Banks Season 4 finds the Pogues in desperate need of some quick cash to save their new home, which means they must get back to the treasure hunting business. Wes Genrette hires them to find Blackbeard’s wife’s amulet in External Banks season 4. However, as always, the characters’ mission gets complicated quickly. JJ discovers he is adopted (and his parents are Chandler Groff and Larissa Genrette), and the Pogues soon find themselves in Morocco trying to recover an artifact called the Blue Crown. But the last scene of External Banks season 4 signals a significant change in the story of the Netflix teen drama.

Outer Banks Season 5 Treasure Hunt Is Driven by Revenge for JJ’s Death, Not Just Money

The Pogues will want to avenge their friend

At the end of External Banks season 4, part 2, Groff stabs and kills JJ, his biological son. The Pogues (especially Kiara, JJ’s girlfriend) are completely and utterly devastated by their friend’s death, which is understandable, to say the least. They hold a funeral for him in Morocco, and the season ends with the defeat of the Pogues and the victory of the villain (Groff). However, External Banks Season 5 will feature the characters chasing Groff, not just for the Blue Crown, but also to get revenge on JJ.

JJ was without a doubt a fan-favorite character in External Bankswhich is why his death was so devastating and controversial among fans.

JJ obviously meant a lot to each member of the TV show’s core group of friends (John B, Kiara, Pope, Sarah, and Cleo). Then, your treasure hunt in External Banks Season 5 will be more terrifying than ever. When they started chasing the Blue Crown, they needed it for its monetary value. Now, JJ’s death in External Banks The Season 4 finale will be the Pogues’ main motivation for tracking down Groff. They want to avenge JJ, which makes the Pogues’ story in Season 5 more tragic and emotional than in previous seasons.

JJ was without a doubt a fan-favorite character in External Bankswhich is why his death was so devastating and controversial among fans. He was the favorite for a reason – JJ was the heart of the Pogues, both to the fans and the group of friends themselves. Rudy Pankow’s character was easy to love, with her cheerful, free-spirited nature and backstory that many viewers could empathize with or empathize with. JJ was John B’s best friend since childhood, Kiara’s boyfriend and Pope’s very close friend. His dynamic with the three of them was special, that’s why External Banks season 5 will be so different without him. Rafe may try to fill the void left by JJ’s absence, but he’s far from a perfect replacement for JJ. Realistically, no one can replace JJ (and the writers shouldn’t even try to get someone else to take his place), and it will be difficult to watch Season 5 without him.

Outer Banks season 5 treasure hunt in Portugal is even more dangerous with Sarah’s pregnancy

Sarah found out she was pregnant in Season 4, Part 2

In addition to JJ’s death setting up External Banks Season 5, Sarah’s pregnancy will also play an important role in the story of the series’ final season. Sarah discovered she was pregnant with her and John B’s baby during season 4, part 2 (a development that was foreshadowed in part 1). So with her condition, the Pogues won’t be able to take the same risks they usually take in Season 5. Sarah almost died in all four seasons of External Banksbut in season 5, she (and the other characters) will have to be more careful about their involvement in the mission, thanks to the baby.
