Oscar Isaac lent his voice to the role of Spider-Man 2099 in Marvel’s hit animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseand the new art sees the actor imagined in the role in live-action. Isaac has been a famous performer in Hollywood since becoming the title character in the Coen brothers’ film. Inside Llewyn Davis. Since then, he has played major roles in franchises such as Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse and Poe Dameon in Star Wars. However, lending his voice to Miguel O’Hara may be his most interesting performance yet.
Some artwork recently shared by azulclone was posted in Instagramwhere the concept artist created a mock-up of what the actor would look like in a live-action version of the role. Isaac’s face looks perfect in this version by Miguel O’Hara, and the costume also seems like a perfect translation of what was seen in the animated film.
The comments attached to the post are enthusiastic, with many praising the work the artist has done. Others note the incredible physique suggested by the art, with one user commenting, “Every day is a trap day for this guy”. Seeing Isaac conceived as a live-action version of the character that still feels faithful to the animated version is very interesting. The actor would clearly make an excellent Miguel if the studio decided to move forward with a live-action iteration.
What Oscar Isaac’s Live-Action Spider-Man 2099 Art Means
Oscar Isaac already looks like the animated Miguel O’Hara
One thing that stands out about this image is how much it resembles the version of Spider-Man 2099 that was seen in the film. While azulcone mentions in his post that this art was made before seeing the film, the concept and face bear a striking resemblance to the version of the character in Through the Spider-Verse. Not only does this make the art even more interesting, but it also underlines how effective the voice actor’s live-action casting could actually be later on.
Through the Spider-Verse blurred the line between animation and live-action, with appearances from both in the film. Donald Glover Spider-Verse the cameo as Prowler was perhaps the best example of this, but it looks like Sony may have plans to expand its universe even further after this animated trilogy. Seeing the integration of live action and animation being examined and explored in the way these films did is clearly remembered by this excellent concept art.
Our Take on Oscar Isaac’s Live-Action Spider-Man 2099 Art
Sony may be planning more Spider-Verse spinoffs
This fan art is an excellent conceptual work that I believe shows how Oscar Isaac could easily play Miguel O’Hara in live-action after lending his voice to the character. With the new DC Universe set to integrate live action and animation into the same series, I can’t help but wonder if Sony might be considering doing the same thing.. Although this art is just a fan project, spin Spider-Man: From the Other Side Spider-Verse Moving into live-action stories could be the logical next step for Sony, especially with such compelling actors already available for potential casting.
Miles Morales returns in Spider-Man: On the Other Side of the Spider-Verse, the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With his identity still secure, but “terrified” by his parents, Miles Morales receives a visit from his friend from another dimension, Gwen Stacy. Inviting him on a new adventure, Miles seizes the opportunity but is apparently approached by an unknown assailant on his journey. Miles and Gwen will team up with Spider-Heroes new and old to face a villain of immeasurable power.
