Dexter's biological father is Joe Driscoll
It's not entirely clear if Joe is portrayed in Original Sin episode 2
Dexter: Original Sin episode 2 appears to include a scene of Dexter Morgan's biological father, Joe Driscoll. During a flashback with Harry Morgan as an undercover police officer Dexter's mother, Laura Moser, deals cocaine with her boyfriend Joe before Harry arrests him on the spot. Laura tries to escape before Bobby Watt, Harry's partner on the Miami subway, steps in to help. Harry ends up interrogating Laura and tells her that Joe is 100% going to prison, so she better talk.
However, It's not entirely clear whether this drug dealer Joe is Dexter's biological father in Dexter: Original Sin episode 2. It was established in the original series that Dexter's biological father, Joe Driscoll, was a former addict and drug dealer, so it could be him and it would make sense if it was. Joe Driscoll is not listed in the credits for Dexter: Original Sinso there's no way to know for sure if it's really him or if he'll have a bigger role as the series continues in February 2025.
Why Harry Raised Dexter Instead of His Biological Father After Laura Moser's Death
Joe was in prison and out of the picture when Laura was killed
If the drug dealer in Dexter: Original Sin episode 2 turns out to be Joe Driscoll, Dexter's biological father, so Joe will be in prison for a long time for drug trafficking. Joe served time in prison and was out of the picture when Laura Moser was killed, which is why Harry became Dexter's biological father. Joe Driscoll is mentioned in Season 1 of Dexter and is killed by Dexter's brother Brian Moser, the Ice Truck Killer. Until then, Dexter believed that his father died when he was a child. Dexter: Original Sin could explain where Joe is as Dexter begins his career as a vigilante serial killer.
Dexter: Original Sin explores the origins of Dexter Morgan as he transitions from student to serial killer in 1991 Miami. Guided by his father, Dexter channels his dark desires through a moral code as he begins a forensic internship at the Miami Metropolitan Police Department.
