Only murders in the building showrunner John Hoffman explains the Season 5 murder victim, as revealed during the final scene of the Season 4 finale.
Chatting with TV lineshowrunner John Hoffman talked about Lester (Teddy Coluca), the Arconia’s doorman, being Only murders in the building the season 5 murder victim and whether her death could be linked to the dry cleaning king case. Read his full comments below:
You must ask yourself, right? There are many areas that we have talked about [in the writers’ room]…looking at the life of someone who was a doorman in an antebellum apartment building in New York City at this time, and all that it encompasses. Who is this person? And what could be happening in your life? What kind of factions [of New York City] Did he play? This seems really intriguing to me as far as where we’re headed.
Now, Teddy Coluca… I felt terrible. I make a point of talking to the actor who might be the next victim before he reads the script, and I missed Teddy by a day. He said: “John!” I said, “Don’t tell me you read it.” And he said, “I read it yesterday and I started crying.” I felt terrible and thought, “Let’s sit down. Let me talk to you about all these things.” He’s the best guy, and he’s like Jane. It helps a lot when you have some sense of affection for the character in some way – for our trio too – to have that emotional hook.
More to come…
