One Piece’s 5 Live-Action Straw Hats Ranked By Power

Luffy reunited just four members of his Straw Hat crew in the Netflix film One piece adaptation, but the quintet varies greatly in terms of power. Launched in 2023, One piece The first season debuted Monkey D. Luffy, Roronoa Zoro, Sanji, Nami, and Usopp, and these budding buccaneers found themselves fighting a variety of vicious villains during the first phase of their journey.

It may be early days, but Netflix’s live-action anime adaptation has already highlighted major differences in their respective strengths. One piececurrent main cast. All five pirates will get stronger as the story progresses, of course – even in the next few One piece season 2. As things stand, however, a clear hierarchy is already emerging on the Going Merry.

Usopp

Usopp is your guy… If you’re trying to win a toy at carnival

As the Straw Hat with less battle experience and a third of the so-called “weak trio” of One piece anime, Usopp was the weakest member of Luffy’s crew in One piece season 1. At this point in the story, Usopp is essentially just a smart guy who is reasonably good with a slingshot. His combat skills with other weapons – and, indeed, unarmed – are weak, and his courage remains well hidden most of the time. Defeating Chew from the Arlong Pirates was certainly an achievement, but luck played an important role. If the fishman hadn’t been holding a bottle of liquor at that moment, Usopp probably would have lost.

Later on One piece In the story, Usopp will improve his sniping skills with a variety of long-range weapons, create more powerful ammunition, and even develop haki. With these tricks not yet at his disposal, however, Usopp is comfortably the least powerful Straw Hat in the world. One piece season 1.

Nami

Nami received an upgrade in live-action One Piece

Although Nami is also part One pieceWith Usopp’s “weak trio,” she can legitimately claim to be a better fighter than Usopp in the Netflix adaptation. In a small but significant deviation from the anime, Nami helped Luffy and Zoro fight the Marines at the base in Shells Town, giving a good account of herself in the process. Nami’s staff technique is much more advanced in live-action than at the corresponding point in the anime, and Emily Rudd exudes a firmer resolve in the face of danger, making live-action Nami more powerful than the original character during One piecefirst arcs.

Netflix One piece appears interested in avoiding gender stereotypes by portraying Nami as a more credible fighter.

As a thief working under Arlong’s rule, Nami also saw more trouble in real life than Usopp, whose last sighting of a real pirate would have been her father’s back disappearing into the distance. Nami still pales in comparison to Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro, of course, but Netflix One piece seems interested in avoiding gender stereotypes, portraying her as a more credible fighter from the start.

3

Sanji

Sanji kicks fish almost as well as he cooks them

The jump in power from Nami to Sanji is huge, but deciding which one is stronger One piece Sanji and Zoro’s character is a case of thin margins. Importantly, Sanji was given less screen time – and therefore less time to showcase his skills – compared to the Straw Hat swordsman, partially explaining why Zoro is ranked higher. Trained by former pirate Red Leg Zeff, Sanji is already a master of footwork when Luffy meets him in Netflix’s first season. The chef takes down several low-level pirates fighting in Baratie, but most notable is his victory against Arlong’s second-in-command. , Kuroobi.

Competing with any fishman was enough to highlight Sanji as a prodigious fighting talent and elevate him far above Usopp and Nami in the live-action. One piece hierarchical order. Overcoming a high-ranking fishman like Kuroobi, however, confirmed that Sanji really is good for more than cooking.no matter what Zoro says.

2

Roronoa Zoro

Zoro lost against Mihawk, but won our hearts

Narrowly besting Sanji is Mackenyu’s Roronoa Zoro, and although it’s a close call, the evidence weighs in Zoro’s favor. While Sanji is equally dedicated to kicking and cooking, Zoro has dedicated his life entirely to combat, while working as a bounty hunter has provided him with greater practical experience. Throughout One piece In the first season, Zoro defeated Mr. 7 of Baroque Works, made a great contribution to defeating Axe-Hand Morgan, and shot down two officers of Kuro’s Cat pirates. Despite losing badly to Dracule Mihawk, earning the Shichibukai’s respect was a badge of honor in itself.

One could also argue that Zoro accompanying Sanji during the battle at Arlong Park, after suffering fatal injuries against Mihawk, is proof enough that the swordsman surpasses the chef. Zoro will not necessarily remain more powerful than Sanji, as One piece continues to unfold, but based on their respective feats and live-action demonstrations thus far, Zoro currently has a slight advantage over his Straw Hat rival.

Monkey D. Luffy

No Straw Hat can compare to Luffy’s power

The power difference between Zoro and Luffy may not be huge, but there’s little doubt that the Straw Hat captain is also their best asset in a fight. Whatever criteria Luffy is judged by, he comes out on top. Trained by his Navy Vice Admiral grandfather, Luffy received a better combat education than Zoro or Sanji. In terms of battles won, Luffy’s big victories include victories against Kuro, Buggy, and, most impressive of all, Arlong. Zoro and Sanji, however, had to work together to defeat Arlong’s right-hand man. All this before even mentioning Luffy’s Devil Fruit ability, which cements his status as One piecethe strongest Straw Hat.

Alvida

Morgan Ax Hand

Buggy the clown

Kuro

Arlong

In fact, Luffy wouldn’t be the captain of his crew if he weren’t the strongest member. This will continue to be the case as One piece continues and Luffy gets exponentially more monstrous arc after arc. The fact that the live action One piece barely scratching the surface of the Straw Hat captain’s inner strength is another reason why no one on his crew, no matter how talented, can surpass him in pure battle power.

Based on the popular manga/anime series, One Piece is a live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s story for Netflix. The show follows the exploits of a band of pirates, the Straw Hats, led by the energetic and adventure-loving Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy is a young man cursed with strange powers after accidentally eating a mysterious fruit. With his friends Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji, Luffy will cross the vast ocean to find the legendary treasure, One Piece.
