X-MANHUNT PART THREE! Fugitive Charles Xavier seeks refuge in the Storm Sanctuary, Storm's houseboat in the city of Atlanta, and the X-Men (from Alaska) take notice. Will Storm and the X-Men join forces with Professor And making his debut in From the Ashes is the unstoppable devourer, the blue-skinned Zulu titan… Maggott! |
As new teams form and new alliances must be won, Maggot is emerging from the tunnels to take part in the next fight. Now it's only a matter of time to see which side of the conflict the “Invincible Devourer” chooses to support.
Maggott has the most notorious mutant power in the X-Men – now he returns in a crucial role
1 part mutant, 2 parts slug, totally disturbing
The blue-skinned, slug-ridden, and terrifying mutant Maggott is returning to the scene. For readers unfamiliar with “Titan Zulu,Maggott's mutant abilities manifest as a pair of sentient slugs, which actively replace his digestive tract. Slugs, called Eany and Meany, are independent, autonomous creatures that can reach enormous sizes. It is unclear whether Eany, Meany, or Maggott possess any other independent powers, but collectively they have the power to recall past events that occurred in the area around them.
Eany and Meany are highly intelligent, being able to hold normal conversations with their host. The beasts require a large amount of food to survive, constantly depriving Maggott of his necessary nutrients. Additionally, to summon Eany and Meany, the slugs must emerge from Maggott's stomach, causing the mutant considerable pain. However, when you're around for a fight, Maggott always put himself at the center of the fightlike any other brave X-Man would do. After the fall of Krakoa, Maggott teamed up with Madelyne Pryor before joining the safe haven of Morlock.
Maggott is a good-hearted hero despite his bad reputation
Your Morlocksa Could Be a Game Changer in X-Men's 'Civil War'
On and off the page, Maggott doesn't have the best reputation. His powers are admittedly pretty gross and he hasn't always had the best control over his slugs. On several occasions, Eany and Meany escaped their intestinal confines, going on murderous rampages, consuming everything in sight. Throughout the entire 2000s, he was canonically dead, but also appeared infrequently in several X-Men series. When Maggott finally returned to the franchise with a degree of semi-permanence, he was met with a joke about how no one would want to cosplay him.
Mutantkind's “most disgusting” hero is returning to take a stand in the X-Men franchise "Civil War."
Despite having the slightest advantage in popularity, Maggott is a genuinely good-natured and sweet hero. Before realizing he had mutant powers, Maggott believed he had stomach cancer and was willing to “sacrifice” himself so his family could save resources. When the Dark X-Men left Archangel behind after a mission, Maggott was the only hero who protested the entire time. Now, after finding a new home with Callisto and the Morlocks, mutantkind's "nastiest" hero is returning to take his stand in the world. X-Men "Civil War" franchise.
