Created for the animated Star Wars: The Bad Batch series, Omega has since become one of the Star Wars best characters – and their most unique clone. Omega has had quite a journey, both in its real history and between Star Wars audiences. Although she always had the bravery, heart, and courage of a soldier, just like her brothers, Omega was still a child at the beginning of it all. In The bad lotshe goes from needing rescuing to rescuing herself and others, easily becoming one of the strongest and most loyal members of Clone Force 99.
Omega’s first Star Wars the appearance was in The bad lotdebut, “Aftermath.” It was unclear at the time how important a role she would play, not just in the series but overall. Star Wars franchise. Since then, the animated TV show has revealed a lot about why Omega is so important and how its story ties into other modern stories. Star Wars projects, including The Mandalorian. Here’s everything you need to know about Omega’s history, connections, and future, explained succinctly.
Omega is one of only two pure clones of Jango Fett
Omega and Alpha (Boba)
What makes Omega extremely special is that she is one of two other pure clones of Jango Fett, the DNA blueprint for the entire clone army. The first is, of course, Boba Fett, as explained in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones when clone troopers were first introduced. It is not known exactly when Omega was created, but she actually carries a pure sample of Jango’s original DNAin addition to the mutation that made her a female clone instead of a male, like Boba.
This made Omega highly valuable to the Kaminoans after the events of Attack of the Clones. Because of Jango’s untimely death, the Kaminoans had a limited supply of Jango’s pure DNA, and there was no easy way to get more. Both Boba and Omega were limited sources that the Kaminoans could borrow from, but Boba was largely missing after his father’s death, with him seeking revenge against Mace Windu for most of the Clone Wars era. Omega, all along, was restricted to Kamino, where she remained throughout her childhood – until the galaxy changed drastically.
Omega worked as Nala Se’s lab assistant until the fall of the Republic
The Kaminoans kept her close
Omega was, in a way, to Nala Se what Boba was to Jango. Nala Se was extremely proud of Omega’s creation, and so she did everything she could to protect Omega and keep her close, which included using Omega as her lab assistant on Kamino for many years. This is why Omega has never been seen in other Star Wars properties outside The bad lot; Omega was not only busy helping Nala Se, but she was also too valuable to the Kaminoans to roam the open air for long.especially alone.
This, of course, didn’t last forever. When the Clone Wars ended and Order 66 was enacted, things began to change rapidly, especially on Kamino. The Galactic Republic fell and became the Galactic Empire, and Omega’s life was changed forever. Upon Clone Force 99’s return to Kamino, Omega was eager to finally bond with the unique clones whose creations she witnessed, and this helped ensure her safety when things on Kamino turned dangerous. After being trapped by storm troopers, Clone Force 99 came to his rescue, and Omega finally separated from Nala Se and Kamino.
Omega was trained as a soldier by Clone Force 99
She became a formidable warrior
From then on, Omega remained with Clone Force 99, which quickly became his own family. She became exceptionally close to Hunter, and the feeling was mutual as he became extremely protective of her, and the rest of his squad followed suit – except Crosshair, whose activated inhibitor chip dictated that he remain with the Empire. While Omega was with the Bad Batch, she learned many things from them, but most of all, she learned how to become a formidable soldier.
Thanks to the harsh realities of survival and a wide variety of different mercenary jobs completed in the name of a Trandoshan named Cid Scaleback, Omega not only watched his brothers in action, but also participated when and how he could. Omega already had a wide range of impressive skills, most notably a talent for strategy which she proved by winning countless rounds of dejarik, but these abilities were transformed into power and capabilities that grew as Omega trained with his brothers.. Eventually, she became strong enough to perform her own rescues, rather than the other way around.
Omega was hunted by the Empire because of his M count
She was instrumental in the Necromancer Project
These rescues became necessary when Omega was suddenly hunted by the Empire. Initially, Omega was sought out by the cruel Doctor Royce Hemlock simply because he needed a way to make Nala Se comply with his cloning experiments. This worked for a while, but one day, when Omega’s blood sample was collected and tested, Nala Se told her to escape. Omega managed to do this, catching her and Crosshair, who was also imprisoned in the same prison laboratory on Mount Tantiss, far from the planet Wayland. This test would change everything for the young clone.
Omega’s test revealed that his blood was able to retain a high midi-chlorian count, or M count, without degrading the sample – which essentially means that Omega itself had a fairly high M count. Given Nala Se’s warnings, it is likely that the scientist designed Omega specifically with this Count M. Hemlock, whose experiments on Tantiss were the early days of Palpatine’s resurrection plan, the Necromancer Project, then sought out Omega once again to experiment with your blood. With the help of her brothers, however, she managed to free herself and her fellow young captives.
People with high M counts tend to be sensitive to the Force, although having a high M count does not guarantee that someone can wield the Force.
Omega is now part of the Rebel Alliance (and probably the New Republic)
She continues her brothers’ legacy
After being freed from Tantiss, Omega lived in peace on the island of Pabu with her brothers. After many years there, however, Omega knew there was more work for her to do. Despite Hunter insisting that she should stay safe Omega stated that her brothers fought in the war and that it was time for her to do the same. Now much older and even more formidable than before, Omega flew off to join the Rebel Alliance, where she was presumably reunited with her old friend, Hera Syndulla.
This is where Omega is Star Wars the story has been paused for now, though it’s not out of the question for it to appear in future projects, even live-action. Omega was undoubtedly a valuable asset to the Rebel Alliance due to the lifelong training she received from Clone Force 99, and her own sense of duty and compassion likely compelled her to help rebuild the New Republic, an era that is currently being explored in Star Wars. However The bad lot may have come to an end, Omegathe story is far from over.
