Warning: Spoilers ahead for 9-1-1 Season 8, Episode 4!9-1-1 Star Oliver Stark quipped “A lot of clarity” around the relationship between Buck (Stark) and Tommy (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) in an upcoming episode of season 8. 9-1-1 Season 8 showed Buck going through many changes at Firehouse 118 after Vincent Gerrard (Brian Thompson) briefly became captain of the station. This led to a lot of friction as the show focused on the team getting used to their new leader and the wild events unfolding therein. However, this also caused Buck and Tommy’s romance to get in the way for the first few episodes.

yes, [Tommy is] In episode 5, a good amount, and is able to, I would say support Buck through some difficult times, but I don’t know if he is always so helpful in this scenario. [Laughs] He’s a little weirded out by some things with Buck. And then in episode 6, there’s a lot of clarity on where their relationship is and a lot of truths learned about each other. I think it’s going to be a really great episode.

The couple will still have a lot of time together
While he has not appeared in a major capacity since 9-1-1 season 7 ended, Tommy remains an integral part of Buck’s lifeWith the pair continuing to have a steady relationship offscreen despite Gerrard’s return to the station. However, events at work have become stranger for the firefighters, as his captain’s attempts to close the 118 in season 8, episode 4 resulted in Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) coming back as leader. Gerrard has been reduced to a technical adviser, but the events of his stint are likely to continue to have ramifications for Buck.

Because of everything that has happened at the firehouse since season 8 began, Stark’s statement indicates Buck will need help from Tommy to process everything he’s been through recently. Given that 9-1-1The intense disasters of the Bi-Nado did not let up either, because the Bi-Nado is an important part of the first episodes, there will be many for the two to discuss. However, since episode 6 will reveal new truths they learn from one another, it sounds like their relationship is really going to go deeper in the coming weeks.

However, now that the storm of Gerrard’s leadership has seemingly passed, we think now is the perfect time to showcase a broader focus on their relationship. Episodes 5 and 6 can be used to more deeply explore their characters, compounded with a full season to work with this time instead of the shortened season 7, their romance debuted in.
