With plans for a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 is explored, it is possible that Star Wars can finally right a massive wrong done to actor Temuera Morrison in what some consider the franchise’s worst live-action TV show yet, The Book of Boba Fett. Discussions about Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 has reunited with Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor recently mentioned that the plans for a new installment to the limited series are “Explore.” This has made the likelihood of a new season actually increase significantly, which raises questions about the story it might tell.
Many have already begun to hope that some of the earlier scrapped Obi-Wan Kenobi Plans will be reused in season 2, one of which follows a character that could only be portrayed by the star of The Book of Boba Fett: Temuera Morrison. The Boba Fett book was filmed Almost, if not completely, simultaneously with Obi-Wan KenobiWith the former releasing just a few months before the latter. The reception to the two shows, however, could not have been more different, bringing back the scrap Obi-Wan Kenobi plot in Season 2 may repair some of the damage.
Boba Fett’s book is heavily under utilized by Temuera Morrison
His character has no chance to shine
The main reason behind The Book of Boba FettHis criticism is that the story of the live-action TV show severely underutilized Morrison and, as a result, the entire character of Boba Fett. Morrison himself has expressed his frustration with this in the years sinceOn one occasion even quote that he tried to advocate for Boba to speak less because the amount of dialogue did not feel suitable for his character. The writing, among other things, was a big reason The Book of Boba Fett Felt like a major disservice to Morrison and Boba – although one other issue really nailed it home.

Morrison has often shared his regret for this happening to his own character’s show, and for good reason. The Book of Boba Fett Has Morrison’s incredible Boba that he portrayed in The Mandalorian Season 2 and fully expands on his story.

This, however, would have been good if Morrison had been brought back in the role of Boba or someone equally important. Instead, Morrison only physically appeared in Star Wars Live-action sometime since then, in a brief cameo during Obi-Wan Kenobi Like a clone veteran. He returned twice to portray voice roles as Captain Rex and various clones in Ahsoka And The MandalorianBut that was the extent of his involvement Star Wars Since his TV show. Morrison, unfortunately, had to pay the price Star Wars Missing the mark with The Book of Boba Fett.
Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 can use his scrapped Commander Cody plot
Bringing Cody back has many advantages
Now, there is a way to bring Morrison back to Star Wars In another major role that he himself wanted to play again: Commander Cody. The fan-favorite clone, who made his first appearance in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith With Morrison in the role, originally planned to be a part of Obi-Wan Kenobis history in its earliest drafts. Since then, there have been various possibilities behind why Cody was scrapped from the final result, but the most likely of these is because Morrison was too busy filming The Book of Boba Fett.

No more Star Wars Have that problem, and The scrapped Cody plot is something the audience has long been asking forAnyway. The storyline would have seen Commander Cody on Tatooine with Obi-Wan, watching over him as another layer of protection. This would have to adjust for the events of Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 took place, but essentially, Cody would worry about Obi-Wan’s safety as part of him trying to deal with the guilt he has of trying to kill Obi-Wan during Order 66. This is something that can certainly be used and Reworked in season 2.
There are, of course, other reasons why Cody should be part of the story. For one, the dynamic between Obi-Wan and Cody is largely unexplored in Live-Action, whereas in Star Wars: The Clone WarsIt’s easy to see how closely the pair bond. This offers McGregor and Morrison a chance to recreate the bond in live-action, with the added context of Order 66 having already happened. In an era where clone stories are more revered and more important than ever, it seems reasonable for Cody to enter the scene – especially with Morrison in the role.
Bring Temuera Morrison back as Cody will give him proper justice
He deserves another chance to shine
By bringing in Commander Cody Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2, Star Wars would not only be fulfilling a previously scrapped story idea that audiences love, but they would also be doing right by Morrison. Morrison would have a chance to shine in Star Wars Again, even if it’s still under the umbrella of Obi-Wan’s story. Cody is already such a beloved character, and with Morrison being the first to ever portray him, It would be perfect justice for Morrison to revive the role again and be on the receiving end of Star Wars Fans’ glowing enthusiasm.
That wouldn’t be fan service, because it makes sense in-universe. Cody’s whereabouts during the era of Obi-Wan Kenobi Have been, no doubt, personally left undecided after the most recent appearance of the character in Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2. The events of the animated series saw Cody finally confront his disillusionment with the Empire, and after the mission that completely breaks through to him, he goes AWOL. To have him appear in a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 would not only help clarify his fate, but it would also enhance his character arc.

Above all, however, Morrison truly deserves this opportunity more than anything. If Star Wars had the opportunity to do right by Morrison and give him the proper justice in this role, therefore they should. It’s hard to imagine anyone complaining about the idea of Commander Cody being folded into Obi-Wan’s story, even with the way Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 1 ended. Morrison has already expressed his own willingness to return for this specific role, one he has also extended to Captain Rex. It’s certainly the right move, then, for Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 to bring Morrison’s Cody back to live-action.
