Nosferatus has already made it onto an elite 2024 horror list. Nosferatus is a dark fantasy retelling of the classic vampire story of the same name and the fourth film from Robert Eggers, who previously directed The Witch, The Lighthouseand The Northman. It was launched on Christmas Day into a competitive field that included Little baby and A complete stranger. Nosferatus features a strong lead cast including Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgård, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson and Simon McBurney. It's getting good reviews so far and is in talks for awards season.
According to The Numbers, Nosferatus has now achieved an elite place among the horror of 2024. In just five days, Nosferatus It made it into the top 10 highest-grossing horror films of the year at the domestic box office and is outside the top 5. At the time of this writing, the film is currently ranked no. 6 highest-grossing horror film of the year, grossing $40.3 million domestically. It surpassed films like Don't speak badly and The Strangers: Chapter 1 for this honor, but still lags behind Terrifying 3 and much more.
