Similar to the rest of the DC Comics characters involved in the line-wide reboot that was 2011's New 52 initiative, Nightwing, aka Dick Grayson, received an all-new costume that immediately divided fans for its similar design appearance but different colors. Keeping the costume black, but swapping out Nightwing's blue tones for an entirely different shade of red, this costume also followed the more textured, layered, and "grounded" costume elements that many of the New 52 redesigns incorporated, making this costume , outside of its color change, a much more realistic version of Nightwing's usual skin-tight, skin-tight costume.

Created alongside some other talented creators, Caleb puts Nightwing's New 52 costume to good use, with the first post showing off his custom costume from multiple angles. Wearing a lightly armored outfit complete with a crimson logo on his chest, red accents on his arm, back, hips and hands, and a pair of ruby shoulder pads, Caleb holds two escrima sticks that are also dyed red, bringing his this look in a way that even those who hate this costume can't complain. Providing clips of Caleb in costumed action below, It's clear this design improves an outfit that may never be seen again.

Nightwing's red and black outfit gets the proper live-action design it will never officially get

However Nightwing has updated his blue costume more than once since retiring the New 52 look - specifically in Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo's recently concluded run with the character - fans should never say never when it comes to Dick suiting up again in the future, as DC's sprawling multiverse all but guarantees there will be a version of the character running across the rooftops of Bludhaven still using. NightwingHer red costume may not be her best comic book look, but when it comes to cosplay, it's definitely one of her best live-action ones.
