Nia Jax remains a winner, even virtually

The wrestler’s WWE 2K24 inclusion and gaming history

Screen Rant: First, I’d like to hear a little bit about what the collaboration process was like to get you into the game this time. How much input did you have about what your character looked like and your move sets and that sort of thing?

Nia Jax: Well, with the DLC, I don’t have as much say with the move sets. I think WWE 2K is really good about hoping in what we do and watching every move, so I think they took it upon themselves to put the best of the best of what Nia Jax can do.

But They have this really cool system where we get into it, and they scan our faces within minutesAnd they have the most accurate face they could possibly do, and hair. I am curious to see, because I did not scan it with my natural hair and I had my wigs. I love the wig look, but I can’t wait to see what eventually they can do with my natural curls.

Do you enjoy playing video games yourself in your spare time?

Nia Jax: I play with my nephew – well, my one nephew and I play this little game on my younger nephew’s tablet. I’m older, so I grew up playing Super Mario Brothers, the old-school version, and Donkey Kong. I used to do the Wii and stuff like that.

But I did play the WWE 2K game. When I play as myself, I always lose, but if someone plays as me, they always win, so I think I’m the factor in the video games. But I enjoy watching my nephew and niece play the WWE 2K game because, of course, they can brag about their aunt.

Did you have a favorite game growing up?

Nia Jax: Super Mario Brothers.

A classic.

Nia Jax: Yeah, it’s a classic. It’s always fun, and it was something I actually got good at at one point and was able to beat my brother.

Oh, nice, so you’ve been winning for a long time.

Nia Jax: Well, that’s my thing. I’m a sore loser. I’m actually a hard winner and a hard loser. If I lose, I’m a brat, and if I win, I’m a brat. I am the same, I am consistent.

Speaking of winning, does your second Women’s Championship win mean anything to you this time around? What do you feel are the biggest changes in you as a performer between the two wins?

Nia Jax: I think when I first won the title, it was a big moment. It was against Alexa Bliss. We have this amazing storyline, and I wasn’t expecting to win this. It was more of a shock to me. At the moment, it was at the time when we had Rhonda come in and there were so many reasons going on, so I didn’t really get to soak it in, let’s put it that way. I didn’t get to soak in the moment.

I feel It was so much more for meNot only because it came with winning the Queen of the Ring tournament, which was such an incredible tournament that showcases so much talent in the WWE, and then being able to carry it at Summer Slam against a competitor that I’ve been going up against for 10 years. , Bailey, and you take it away. I can really enjoy it and soak it in, and I appreciate it a little more than last time.

Between your Women’s Championship win and winning Queen of the Ring, would you say one was a harder fight than the other?

Nia Jax: The queen of the ring, for me, because it was a tournament and there are so many brackets, I have to face so many different competitors, incredible. I got Naomi, Jade Cargill, Bianca Bellir, Lyra Valkyria – these are the top-tier women in the division.

It’s definitely a tough phase to go through, but to get in the ring with Bayley, who is a seasoned veteran who knows how to work – I’ve lost to her more than I’ve beaten her in my career. It certainly tasted a little better, let’s put it that way.

I think one thing that a lot of fans love about you is your sense of humor and the way you manage to be quite down to earth, even though you work in an environment that is so, just by the nature of it, really over the top. What is the balancing act for you?

Nia Jax: It’s not a balancing act, it’s who Nia Jax is. It’s a slightly turned-up version of who I really am, and I feel the audience can relate to someone they feel comfortable with. I just tried to be turned on, and apparently, it was working. They seem to like it, but I don’t try to balance anything, because I don’t feel like I want to be something that someone can’t relate to.

Now that you have all these achievements under your belt, where are you looking to the future in terms of where you want to go next?

Nia Jax: Right now, I’m with my princess Tiffy, and I don’t see why we couldn’t team up and go after the tag team titles. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are currently the Women’s Tag Team Champions, but why not? Why can’t we go for all the gold? I think we deserve it. We’re at the top – the tippy top, right now, of the division, and I think we should go for the gold. This would be a big challenge for us next.
