    New Overwatch 2 Hero Will Be Familiar to Longtime Fans

    Overwatch 2 showed off what to expect from Season 13, as well as a sneak peek at a new character for Season 14 that should be familiar to early fans. Season 13, “The Spellcaster,” is aptly named because it airs on Halloween and will run for nine weeks. This means it will end shortly before Christmas and give players a new season and a hero.

    The new characters in recent seasons have been received relatively well. Since their first presentation at Blizzcon 2023, Overwatch 2 received Mauga, Ventura and Juno. Mauga was a powerful tankalthough often to the detriment of others. Venture is a fun combo-based DPS that fits nicely into the mix. Finally, season 12 heroine Juno felt out of place at first, but gradually found her role among the talented supporting cast.

    Origins of Overwatch

    Phreak was originally announced at Blizzcon 2023, meaning those keeping a close eye on what’s coming to the game have been waiting for a while for Phreak to be officially announced. At Blizzcon, during the teaser, you could see a small icon drawn under the tank role. However, nothing came of this, at least so far.

    Freak is the same name as the concept character before. Overwatch was announced and was known as Prometheus/Project Titan.. This means that Freak’s appearance in the game has been expected for a long time. They are shown as a man in hiding, dressed similarly to the Junker faction, perhaps with some chemical themes. Seen in the post above from Reddit. RunItUpWords “Gun, stomp and attract” are indicated on their concept art, likely early plans for the abilities.

    Unfortunately, Phreak is completely unknown right now. Based on the art shown at Blizzcon, the character may be completely different from the original concept.. The name “Freak” appears to be popular among rebels, as shown in videos and promotional materials for the franchise, which has likely led to the addition of a new faction, which is currently expected to be called “Freaks”. They are also confirmed to be Scottish.

    In terms of abilities, Freak is unlikely to have his own conceptual abilities, which sound closer to Mauga’s set. The picture shows what looks like spiked carapace armor, which, to be precise, would have played an important role in their kit.. Perhaps one ability goes into a mode where Freak takes reduced damage and some of the damage dealt to him is returned back to the attacker. Another option is a new form of charge that is more similar to the Wrecking Balls throw, where for a limited time Freak can roll around and deal damage on impact.

    Overall, Phreak has a lot of room for potential new mechanics being added to the hero shooter. Although tanks were inconsistent throughout the sequel, they found a more stable place among the top tier characters. Overwatch. As such, it will be interesting to see how this early concept hero has been tweaked and fits into this new ecosystem. Overwatch 2.
