A new image reveals a hot moment of I wish you were here. The upcoming romance film is the directorial debut of 10 things I hate about you star Julia Stiles. It stars Isabelle Fuhrman (who previously collaborated with Stiles as co-stars on Orphan: First Death cast) as a young woman who has an affair with a character played by Mena Massoud (who played the titled character in 2019 Aladdin) before learning that he has a terminal illness and trying to help him face the last days of his life. The supporting cast also includes Kelsey Grammer and Jennifer Gray.
TelaRant now you can share an exclusive first image of I wish you were here. The photo is from a scene where the pair are outside and apparently about to kiss. Fuhrmann's character has her back against the wall of what appears to be an alley, while Massoud's character approaches her. Although there is a slight smile on Fuhrmann's lips, the connection between them seems intense and serious. See the full-size image below:
The wish you were here leads the chemistry is crackling
It promises an especially passionate romance by Mena Massoud
The new image is very similar to the shot used in the film's poster. However, there is a fundamental difference. The poster image of I wish you were here is an alternate scene that shows the pair with more space between them and Isabelle Fuhrman looking up into Mena Massoud's eyes. In the real picture of the scene, her eyes are fixed on his while they are approximately at the same levelwith the lips much closer to the touch.
[Wish You Were Here] is set to be the hottest [romance] still for the star of Aladdin…
This new image offers a lot more insight into the co-stars' on-screen connection. Although Mena Massoud has appeared in several recent romance films, including Netflix's The Royal Treatment and Freevee's Hotel for the holidaysThis image shows how the film is set to be the hottest yet for the Aladdin star. Although his recent work has leaned toward wholesome romantic comedies, I wish you were here has a vein of passion that accentuates the thrilling melodrama at its core.
Wish You Were Here is part of a new romantic trend
The Tearjerker resurgence of the 2020s continues
While the end of I wish you were here is still unknown, it appears to be a classic regardless of whether Massoud's character survives or not. While emotional or melodramatic romances have been quite common over the years, they have become increasingly prominent in theaters once again after a recent lull, with titles like Blake Lively's blockbuster End with us and A24 is busy We live in timestarring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.
