Based on the events of Martin The stories of Dunk and Ai, it Follow a legendary knight and his squire as they embark on adventures In the seven kingdoms. The events are set 90 years before the events in Game of Thrones. The show is adapted from the novella, The Hedge KnightWhich is the first of three novellas in the collection of A knight of the seven kingdoms.

Martin Revealed in his blog post that They are not set on the title of the show. They explored the possibilities of both titles, but did not reach a decision. There is a great chance that A knight of the seven kingdoms is “will be the title of the show,” “Unless we go with the Hedge KnightHowever, the author is not completely sure since everything is”Still under discussion.” Check out what Martin wrote below:

“Yes, I’m talking about the latest GAME OF THRONES spinoff show. It’s an adaptation of ‘The Hedge Knight’, the first of my Dunk and Egg stories. There were two more after that, ‘The Sworn Sword’ and ‘The Mystery Knight.’ They are all collected in a book called A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS, which will probably be the title of the show as well…unless we go with THE HEDGE KNIGHT.

The show could get a different name

Martin’s comment implies a level of uncertainty surrounding the show’s working title. While it’s not unheard of for a show to get a title change while in post-production, talk of a title change means that Each name is a perfect fit For the Dunk & Egg story. With promotional efforts already made with the current name, talk of a title change also suggests that The show doesn’t use either.

It is not the first time a television adaptation has decided on a different name than that used in the source material. House of the Dragon Chose another name like Fire & Blood. Game of Thrones Also preferred to use the title of the first book in the series rather than using the series title A Song of Ice and Fire To appeal to the different demographics. Based on what Martin wrote, It is possible that the show could get a different title.

Our take on the title of the new show

It needs a better name

The Greens of House of the Dragon, Aegon, Aemond, Helena, Alicent and Otto.

While “Dunk & Egg” as a title doesn’t appeal to Martin because it makes the show sound like a sitcom, it reflects the theme better. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight Follows the future Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Ser Duncan the Tall, a Hedge Knight from Flea Bottom, and the future King Aegon V Targaryen, who decides to shave his head and run away from his family.

Ultimately, the show is about both dunk and egg. Because neither “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” nor “The Hedge Knight” reflects the story, this may be why it was difficult to determine the title of the show. Although it is Only a slim chance that the new series will come out as Dunk & AGiven how much Martin dislikes it as a show name, hopefully whatever they eventually come up with will reflect the show’s duo dynamic.
