A new free event weapon from Genshin Impact 5.4 has reportedly been leaked and while a new F2P (free-to-play) weapon is always good news for players, this particular item may be limited in a strange way. Version 5.4 is the next update for HoYoverse's action RPG, which has just entered version 5.3. Right now, all eyes are on the final Archon missions taking place in the Natlan region, bringing the Pyro Nation's main story arc to a close. There are also several new playable characters in Genshin Impact 5.3, including Mavuika and Lan Yan.
Three new characters are directly linked to Natlan, but Lan Yan is from Liyue. This is because the current update, in addition to focusing on Natlan, also hosts the annual Lantern Rite Festival. This is one of the game's biggest recurring events, and as it happens at the same time as a regional story arc is interrupted, the patch will be huge. However, some attention is already focused on the next update. There has already been a leak about an Inazuma character in Genshin Impact 5.4, ββand now there are mentions of a free weapon.
New free weapon leaked for Genshin Impact 5.4
The 4-Star Polearm Brief Pavilion Chatter is rumored to be updated
A new weapon from version 5.4 has been leaked. According to World of honey huntersBrief Pavilion Chatter is a new 4-star firearm. As seen in a HomDGCat leak, which was shared in a βReliableβ post on Reddit, Brief Pavilion Chatter is a new event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4. The weapon reportedly has a medium-range base ATK stat (565 at level 90) and a useful Energy Recharge substat (30.63% at level 90). Its leaked weapon skill says that the user increases its ATK and movement SPD by 20% and 10% respectively for 10 seconds after using an elemental skill.
As this is rumored to be an event weapon, it is likely that its refinement materials will also be made immediately available during the event. As such, his weapon skill should be easily achievable by players. According to Honey Hunter World, Brief Pavilion Chatter increases your ATK and movement SPD by 40% and 10% respectively for 10 seconds after using an elemental skill at R5 (refinement level 5). This means that players will be able to do more damage with the supposed 4-star polearm if they manage to level Brief Pavilion Chatter to R5 in Genshin Impact 5.4.
Genshin Impact 5.4 leaked weapon strangely limits one stat
Movement SPD does not appear to increase with refinement levels
Even though the ATK buff through the leaked weapon skill is useful for certain characters, there is a strange cap applied to the movement SPD bonus gained from it. Even through Refinement levels, it appears that the Movement SPD that the equipped character can gain does not increase like the ATK buff. The 10% movement SPD buff supposedly obtained after using an elemental skill remains the same across all five levels of the leaked weapon. It could only grow by 2.5% with each Refinement level, but it seems that the Brief Pavilion Chatter is limited in Genshin Impact 5.4.
At other times in the game's history, such a limit would not be so questionable, as The SPD movement has always been difficult to increase through normal means β in fact, there are certain characters who are often questioned for how much they can contribute to the movement. While Yelan is excellent as a sub-DPS, she is also great for quickly running around maps. The big problem with the supposed free weapon limit leaked from version 5.4 is that this is happening after the release of Natlan characters such as Mualani, Chasca and Mavuika in Genshin Impact.
All of Natlan's characters so far have had some sort of movement mechanic assigned to them, which has completely revolutionized the game. Mualani's plank drastically increases his movement SPD on the field. The same can be said about Chasca's flight mechanic and Mavuika's all-terrain Flamestrider. Although their use is limited by the consumption of Nightsoul Points and Phlogiston (exclusively in Natlan), they allow players to move quickly in a way that has never been possible before. With several Natlan characters being able to improve exploration, the supposed limit of the leak Genshin Impact 5.4 seems a little silly.
Limiting a character's ability to move faster across the field while equipping the Brief Pavilion Chatter when there are several other units that can move as fast or even faster than that seems unreasonable. After the introduction of the Natlan characters, there is no reason for HoYoverse to limit the improvement of SPD Movement in the way it is presented with the leaked event weapon for version 5.4. If the buff to Movement SPD at R5 was 20%, it would still be well under control, especially considering it only lasts 10 seconds in Genshin Impact.
Who the Leaked Genshin Impact 5.4 event weapon might be good for
Xiangling would benefit most from a brief conversation in the pavilion
Overall, from what can be obtained so far, Brief Pavilion Chatter is a very common polearm that doesn't stand out much. Your supposed limit to the SPD Movement actually undermines its usefulness, but even its base ATK stat, its energy recharge sub-stat, and ATK buff are somewhat expendable in light of other, better weapons. Still, it shouldn't be completely ruled out, especially for F2P players. Ideally, Brief Pavilion Chatter is a weapon to equip 4-star polearm characters in Genshin Impact who are focused on dealing damage and rely more on their Elemental Bursts.
The leaked event weapon could serve a character like Xiangling, for example. The Energy Recharge substat could serve Candace immensely, but the ATK buff would be somewhat wasted on her. In a sub-DPS build, Brief Pavilion Chatter could also work with Chevreuse, although the 4-star Pyro character is much better suited as a support. Leaked weapon could work with Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impactbut even in the 4-star F2P realm, there are better options for her, like The Catch.
Overall, the Brief Pavilion Chatter feels like an expendable weapon on all fronts. While its hollow design, reminiscent of a torch, is truly unique, its hollow gameplay value is suboptimal compared to other polearms in the game. There is still a chance that the weapon will undergo changes during beta testing so that its stats and effects can be improved. However, players should prepare for an unflattering new 4-star event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4, ββwhich may simply not be worth the investment.
