Neve Campbell returned for The Lincoln Advocate Season 3 is a big departure from the original book, but the show brings Maggie back in an interesting way. The figure of The Lincoln Advocate is led by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, the titular defense attorney who represents a range of not always morally upstanding clients. The series is adapted from Michael Connolly's long-running novel series, with the legal thriller becoming a massive hit on Netflix.
Garcia-Rulfo is the undisputed star, but Neve Campbell's Maggie has also become a firm audience favourite. Campbell's busy schedule with upcoming projects viz Cry VII Is no doubt the reason behind her reduced appearance in The Lincoln Advocate Season 3. Even so, a brief appearance is better than none, and there's always a chance that Maggie will turn up during present-day events as well. The will they/won't they dynamic between Mickey and Maggie is also an ongoing story in Michael Connolly's novels, so if the show runs beyond season 3, Maggie could return in a big way in a future series.

Novels and TV shows are two very different mediums and live-action adaptations often require serious tweaking to work. Jack Reacher may say very little in the Lee Child books, for example, but he's much more verbose in Amazon's show. This alone justifies some changes to be made The gods of guilt and will give non-book readers more of an insight into Haller's past. Just how much the flashbacks will dig up is another question.
