The public is satisfied, but the critics are not

After being disappointed with Mea Culpa and Divorce in PretoPerry's only hope for success in 2024 was his latest film, The Six Triple Eight. The film tells the true story of an all-black, all-female battalion in World War II, which distinguished itself by resolving an ongoing postal crisis in Europe. Led by Kerry Washington (Charity Adams), Ebony Obsidian (Lena King), Oprah Winfrey (Mary Jane McLeod Bethune) and more, the film should have thrilled critics. Instead of, Rotten tomatoes revealed another critical disappointment.

Both scores are still higher than anything else he's released this year.

Our take on Six Triple Eight's divisive scores

Tyler Perry doesn't need to prove himself

The 50% score is quite effective as Even critics who didn't like the film still enjoyed the story. Audiences praised the performances, storytelling and writing, which raises a simple question: whether Six Triple Eightreviews are even important. As a Netflix film, audiences won't need to consider Rotten Tomatoes reviews before binging on Perry's latest release. After all, few people are spending money on this film alone. Considering that critics often lack the general public's passion for Perry, it would be more prudent to look at public responses to see how effective any Perry release is.

Perry is an extremely successful director who has carved out a niche for himself in Hollywood. He found his audience, who continue to be thrilled with almost every release. After having written and directed The Six Triple Eightit was inevitable that Perry would see some division. Before stopping to agree with the critics, it's worth watching the film to see how effective Perry is, without first looking at the critics' opinion. It could be more pleasant without the luggage.
