School, which they believe is going to change their lives forever. Are audiences really enjoying incoming?
The movie’s Rotten Tomatoes score may be telling
While the negative incoming Reviews have not impacted its ability to attract a worldwide streaming audience, its Rotten Tomatoes audience score on what is now dubbed the Popcornmeter tells a different story. Although audiences gave it a stronger score than critics, out of more than 100 ratings at the time of writing, the movie earned a still nasty 59%. Although it is possible that the score may fluctuate and be pushed over the 60% threshold in a recent score, It doesn’t seem like an overwhelming majority of viewers enjoy this movie.
The new original Netflix comedy movie could benefit from the tendency for any new movie on the platform to get a boost and land on the chart. Its ability to connect with audiences will ultimately be proven by whether or not it has longevity on the chart Or drop off after a few weeks. It was also watched for significantly fewer hours than the streamer’s other major comparable debuts of the past two years. Below, see how his debut compares to other recent Netflix teen comedies:

Time will tell if incoming develops a reputation beyond what it enjoys during the first week of its debut. However, it seems unlikely that the movie could merit a sequel unless it gets a huge boost in viewership in the rest of its first 30 days on the platform. So far, none of the teen comedies that have done better since 2022 have also received follow-ups, which sets a negative precedent for the future of the new movie.
