To celebrate NarutoOn Naruto’s canonical birthday, the official Shonen Jump website posted a video celebrating Naruto Uzumaki’s special day and also highlighted one character who may be his best friend. Naruto has many characters who could be considered his closest friends, but one stands above the rest.
Shonen Jump dedicated an animated manga video to the music of ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION the main character and Shikamaru Nara, his friend since his youth and the person who still supports him even in the current timeline. Boruto: Two Blue Whirlwinds. It was quite surprising that Shonen Jump focused on Shikamaru in the video, meaning that they acknowledge how important he is to Naruto and why he can be considered Naruto’s true best friend.
Shikamaru is voted number one among Naruto
The video was animated quite smoothly and well, showing two points of view of the boys who grew up together. When Naruto got a red color scheme and Shikamaru got a green color scheme, it showed various moments from their lives, such as Naruto fighting Sasuke, Shikamaru leading the mission to find Sasuke, and their reactions to the mission failing. However, the biggest parallel between them in the video was how they lost their mentors and were forced to grow up as a result. Losing Asuma and Jiraiya also brought them closer together and made them closer friends.

While arguments can be made as to why Sasuke, Sakura, Gaara and many other characters can be considered Naruto’s closest friends, Shikamaru is an undeniable part of his life. During the war, Shikamaru decided that he would live on to be by Naruto’s side and help him when he became Hokage, and that’s exactly what he did. Naruto wouldn’t be as successful as the Hokage without Shikamaru’s wise advice, and the two balance each other out. In fact, Shikamaru has temporarily held the position of Hokage since Kawaki eliminated Naruto from history.
It’s nice to see Shonen Jump celebrating one of Narutobest characters, and even more so on the main character’s special day. He was important in the first part of the franchise, and he is even more important now, and just like he helped Naruto in many cases he is doing it now for the sake of his son and the world at large.
