Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes made it clear that the tension between the leaders of Vila Oculta da Folha is greater than ever. With Naruto missing and new enemies appearing out of nowhere, Shikamaru was left in a precarious position with few allies to help him deal with these issues. Even worse, the Elders, who are supposed to support him in these difficult times, see him as an obstacle to their plans.
Chapter #16 of the suggested manga series Homura and Koharu conspiring to remove the Eight Hokage from office, placing the blame for Boruto’s escape on his shoulders. Their short but revealing conversation with the Daimyo of the Land of Fire makes it clear that they are unhappy with the current ruler. The series may imply that the Elders will lead a coup against Shikamaru, as they previously did during Tsunade’s rule.
Konoha’s elders appear to be plotting against the Hokage
Homura and Koharu want Shikamaru to leave
Koharu and Homura, former companions of the Third Hokage and advisors to the village leader are, without a doubt, some of the franchise’s most unlikeable characters. Since its introduction during the original naruto series, they only caused problems for the heroes, acting as manipulative antagonists who oppose progress. In previous chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes manga, it was shown that they still hold the same belief, proving that the Seventh Hokage made a mistake by not taking their power away. This decision could soon harm the village again, as chapter #16 proves.
During this entry, the Elders were seen talking to the Daimyo of the Land of Fire, the country where Konoha is located. The nation’s ruler informed them that Boruto’s escape was a significant oversight and that not correcting it soon could cause problems for those responsible. When the protagonist escaped from custody during chapter 14, Homura and Koharu threatened Shikamaru, blaming him for the event. Together, these two moments paint a bleak picture of the Eight Hokage’s future, as the Elders may be planning to remove him from office.
Homura and Koharu have already announced their displeasure with Shikamaru as the village leader. Blaming the head of the Nara Clan for allowing Boruto to escape could be the perfect opportunity for them to get rid of him. Doing so would not only allow them to expand their power, but would also earn them the favor of the Daimyo, a figure who could help them maintain their position. As the chances of Boruto being permanently captured are slim to none, Shikamaru must soon prepare for the Elders’ next coup.
Older people have already tried something similar in the past
Danzo becoming a temporary Hokage was due to his elders
Homura and Kohaku betraying Shikamaru wouldn’t be the first time these conniving individuals plotted against their allies. In the original naruto anime, during Tsunade’s time as the fifth Hokage, the Elders made it clear that Hashirama’s granddaughter was not the right person to lead in their eyes. They saw her as someone unwilling to commit the atrocities necessary to maintain Konoha’s reputation as a fearsome and powerful village. As such, they began to conspire with Danzo, one of the most hated characters of all time, to give him the title of Hokage.
Although they didn’t have the chance to act against Tsunade since Pain’s attack on Konoha left her in a coma, they immediately appointed Danzo as temporary leader. His new plan involved allowing Tsunade to remain in a coma while Danzo led the village and told the citizens that they were just waiting for the Fifth to wake up. Offering Shikamaru as a sacrifice to appease the Daimyo would not be unusual for the manipulative Elders of Konoha. They could then blame the previous Hokage’s incompetence for the recent attacks on the village while clearing their name.
Eida will be vital to Shikamaru’s survival
Cyborg has already suggested an alliance
Eida’s Senrigan, one of the most versatile and powerful eye techniques in the series, gives her the ability to know about any past or current event. Thanks to this ability, she is one of the few people who knows that Shikamaru helped Boruto in his escape, as proven by their conversation in chapter #16. Joining forces with her may be the only way for Shikamaru to avoid having his title taken away. Your vision may become your only tool to avoid the traps that Koharu and Homura will place in your path.
Homura and Koharu’s discussion with the Daimyo will no doubt become relevant at some point during future chapters of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortexes manga. His actions could cause even more problems for the citizens of Konoha, who are already fighting against the God Trees. It will be up to Shikamaru and his allies to find a way to thwart their plans and perhaps even remove them from their position once and for all.
