What happened in My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode #17?

The tides of battle are turning once again

Students of Shiketsu, including Shishikura, Camie and Inasa, join the battle.

Episode #17 of My hero academia Season 7 opened by showing Lady Nagant managing to get her shot against Shigaraki from all the way into the Central Hospital, having climbed onto the roof against doctor’s orders to help Midoriya in any way she could. Mild still held UA aloft with his Quirk, though it was beginning to reach the limits of his capabilities. La Brava manages to get the levitation systems back online, relieving Mild of his burden—but not before letting the world know how Mild saved the day.

Midoriya, meanwhile, took Shigaraki down to the surface now that his quirks were active again, to prevent him from completely destroying UA and killing everyone aboard. Kurogiri warped the falling Aizawa and present Mick away from the field of battle, though whether it was to save them or remove them from play remains to be seen. All for one, for his part, was still trying to escape while Toga’s doubles kept the heroes busy, but he was intercepted by Hawks – who almost died, if it wasn’t for a timely illusion by Shiketsu’s cameo.

The cloudy weather also allowed Tokuyami to unleash the full power of Dark Shadow, a power even all for one had reason to fear. Finally, it was revealed that Toga could not use Dobi or Shigaraki’s Quirks, although Twice would be able to, due to the restrictions of her own Quirk, preventing a worst-case scenario of an eruption.

Gigantomachia’s help would be a massive boon for the villains, so the heroes must stop the beast from being awakened – although the preview for the next episode suggests that may not be possible. Deku and Shigaraki will continue to clash, now on the ground and isolated from any potential help.

The main focus will be on stopping all for one and preventing gigantomachia from awakening.
