My Hero Academy Season 6, Part 2 is finally available on Blu-ray and DVD, allowing fans to take home one of the best seasons of the anime yet. This time, the box set includes a series of goodies that big fans of the series will want to get their hands on.
Season 6 of My Hero Academy was a major turning point for the series, featuring the Paranormal Liberation War arc in the first half, and the Dark Hero arc in the second half, both of which had lasting impacts on the story from that point forward. The Dark Hero arc focused on Deku as he went off alone, separated from his UA friends while on the run from All for One and his henchmen. Deku took on a ragged and grim appearance in this arc, emphasizing his isolation and the darker change his personality took after the war.

The second half of Season 6 features a Deku who has mastered his many Quirks, able to use them in conjunction to create incredible combo attacks and making him a powerful force to be reckoned with. In fact, Deku becomes a little overconfident in his abilities, reaching the point of exhaustion in his attempts to clear out the unblocked villains roaming the streets freely, all the while avoiding being captured or killed by All for One. Deku felt that he had not had no choice but to isolate himself from his friends, but the circumstances of operating alone even separated him from All Might.
This Dark Hero version of Deku is a distinct change from the courageous and optimistic figure who has led the series thus far. This doesn’t mean that Deku has abandoned his optimism; he still clings to it internally, desperate to save everyone, even those who would take up arms against him, like Lady Nagant, a fan-favorite villain who makes her debut in this arc. The tone of the story changes dramatically, but given the horrific experiences of the Paranormal Liberation War and the grave threat that My Hero Academythat Japan faces, this change of tone is both appropriate and appropriate.
Deku’s relationships come to a head at the end of this particular saga, leading to some emotional moments as his friends beg him to come to his senses and return home to UA, even despite the danger this could pose. Overall, it’s a different kind of take on the “dark period” that many Western comic book heroes have faced, tempered by the optimistic nature of shonen anime and manga and their themes about the power of friendship. Explores what it means to be a hero from a different angle and recognizes that even heroes are human, with human weaknesses and needs.

The Blu-rays themselves contain episodes 127-138 of My Hero Academyas well as some bonus features, which include two Season 5 OVAs released on physical media for the first time (“HLB” (Hero League Baseball) and “Laugh!
