Miyagi's opponent is Daniel-san himself, which is LaRusso's nightmare. Not only is Daniel scared of the younger version of his sensei, but he also knows he is no match for Miyagi in a fight. Miyagi easily beats Daniel, and LaRusso's fear increases when young Miyagi's face transforms into the older Miyagi he knew.saying to Daniel-san:

Daniel's nightmare goes straight to the heart of his greatest fear regarding Mr. Miyagi, that his sensei secretly believed Daniel-san wasn't good or strong enough.
