In Season 2, Episode 8, “Dropping the Egg,” a classroom conversation about science goes downhill when teachers start sharing their pet theories that contradict scientific facts. Jacob’s statement that “Gluten intolerance is just inner white guilt.It’s funny, but in this conversation Mr. Johnson has the advantage. After Melissa admits that she thinks the moon landing may not be possible, the keeper ups the ante by blithely declaring that the Moon itself does not exist. In Season 1 Episode 6, “The Gifted Program,” viewers get their first glimpse into Gregory and Janine’s relationship. It was already a great joke when one of Abbott Elementary SchoolStudents dressed up as Mr. Johnson for Halloweenbut what made this scene so successful was the janitor’s brief response. The guardian did not flatter or patronize, but warned the child to contact a lawyer, informing him that he did not have a license to use his image. Ironically, Mr Johnson himself went on to deliver another classic laugh in the Halloween special when he stuck a piece of gum to his forehead and said he was dressed as iconic rapper Lil Uzi Vert, a reference to the infamous diamond on the star’s forehead.

In Season 1 Episode 11, “Desks,” Abbott’s teachers struggle to stop their students from taking part in a dangerous new trend.table” Desk work involves jumping from one desk to another, risking serious injury in order to create a viral video. Mr. Johnson, of course, was the first to know about this trend and feared the day it would appear in Abbott. When this happens, he and Gregory guard Janine’s classroom to find the culprit, and Gregory is shocked to learn that Mr. Johnson once worked as a private detective. This is not the end of the day’s revelations.
In the ensuing conversation, Mr. Johnson notes that he was also a pipe fitter and “Nude model with tasteamong other professions. When Gregory questions his inconsistent career path, Mr. Johnson explains that dreams are not always the guaranteed blessing they seem to be.. The amazingly wise janitor notes that a dream can become an obsession that takes a person away from his true calling. Gregory wonders if he really wants to be a director, and Mr. Johnson indirectly helps one of the Abbott Elementary SchoolThe best couples realize that their ideal partner has been right under their noses all along.

In the third episode of the first season, “The Bucket List”, Jacob’s most elaborate plans to turn a broken printer into a planter fall apart, much to Mr. Johnson’s chagrin. An idealistic but naive young teacher cannot accept that his plantation plan is doomed and Mr. Johnson’s advice to abandon his attempts has been ignored. It’s not until the episode’s finale that Mr. Johnson finally convinces Jacob that the broken printer is trash.coining a catchphrase that hilariously returns in the season finale. Mr. Johnson’s advice to Gregory was surprisingly wise, but it was his conversation with Janine in the season three finale, “The Party,” that solidified his status as the school’s secret sage. After he helps Janine save her group by fixing the electricity in her apartment, Mr. Johnson engages in a cryptic conversation with her when Janine hints at some unspoken fear that is bothering her. Without directly mentioning her attraction to Gregory, she says she wants to do something that might cost her her job and asks Mr. Johnson what he would do if he were her. The reliable supporting star offers insightful advice.
