Even though he has saved the galaxy many times, Rocket Raccoon rarely gets the respect it deserves, but this is a new low and gets ridiculed Hulk. When the Avengers and the world are struck by a spreading alien disease, Groot has only one ally left: the Hulk. Stubborn and often bored, Hulk hopes for a chance to team up with Rocket and reveal the Green Goliath’s personal nickname for the wild inventor.
Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay (Tomas Krajewski, Jason Muir, Rachelle Rosenberg and Travis Lanham) is Marvel’s newest miniseries in which Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are exposed to a seemingly unstoppable virus responsible for turning its victims into zombies. Groot was the first to become infected with this unknown virus and passed it on to the Avengers. One by one, all of the Avengers except the tenacious Hulk fell to the virus, leaving only Groot and the Hulk untouched.
Now they must work together to cure the Avengers and save the world, but Green Goliath is unhappy with his ally, retorting that: “Groot is annoying the Hulk. Where’s the Space Skunk? Space Skunk is funny.”

Move over “Trash Panda” – Hulk called the rocket a “Space Skunk”
Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay – Script by Thomas Krajewski, Art by Jason Moore, Colors by Rachelle Rosenberg, Letters by Travis Lanham
Throughout the first issue of this new miniseries, as well as in the new preview for issue #2, Hulk repeatedly calls Rocket Raccoon “Space Skunk” Rocket Earth’s ignorance has long allowed his Guardians of the Galaxy teammates to call him “Trash Panda” with impunity, but the Hulk goes further by choosing a far more offensive mammal. This Hulk is Bruce Banner’s “Savage Hulk” character, who has the look of a child. So it makes sense that he craved some chaotic fun – something that Rocket is known to cause.
Hulk and Rocket actually go back even further than Rocket and Groot, by several decades.
However, over the years, Rocket has undergone many name changes, from “Mammal” to his chosen codename “Star Sheriff”. “Space Skunk” This is definitely the most offensive. In fact, it gets worse because Hulk genuinely enjoys Rocket’s company and finds the talking raccoon funny in the same way a child would. Although being insulted is one thing, being sincerely ridiculed is completely different. However, Rocket may be willing to forgive the Hulk due to their amazing bond…
Hulk has an amazing history with Rocket Raccoon
Rocket debuted alongside Green Goliath
First canonical appearance of Rocket Raccoon it was in 1982 The Incredible Hulk #271. In the story, the Hulk finds himself at Rocket’s home in Half-World, where Rocket hires the Jade Giant to fight the villain Judson Jakes. This adventure means Hulk and Rocket actually go back even further than Rocket and Groot.where Bruce Banner’s alter ego assists Rocket in his initial mission to protect Half-World. Now, 42 years later, the Hulk and Rocket Raccoon meet again – thanks to “Space Skunk” nickname, Rocket would probably be happy to wait a few more decades before reuniting.
Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay #2 will be available October 9th from Marvel Comics.
