There were many entitled crew members in the below deck franchise over the years, but there are some that are more shocking than others. Many different personalities sail the high seas like deckhands, steves and chefs, but some seem to think they deserve special treatment. Captain Sandy Yawn is more tolerant of entitled cast members, giving far too many chances to her problematic Below deck Mediterranean Season 9 crew members. However, the eight take the cake.
Below deck Mediterranean Season 9 was marred with controversy. Chef Johnathan “Jono” Shillingford, Bri Muller and Elena “Ellie” Dubaich are all charged with improving his producer plants Below Deck Med Drama on the wild season. Additionally, Gael Cameron and Joe Bradley were embroiled in a deck hand feud, and Chef Jono almost killed a charter guest with raw seafood. Among all the drama, some become truly notorious, thanks to entitled antics that really got noticed.

Lexi Wilson
Below deck Mediterranean
Lexi’s entitlement got her into conflict with almost all of her crew members. One notable instance occurred during a crew dinner, where she insulted Mazie “She” Dempers, repeatedly blabbing at him without apologizing. She was also terribly bad at her job, sometimes acting like some tasks were beneath her. Lexi is even said to be too good for her job Multiple times on camera. Her attitude meant that no one wanted to work with her. Lexi also boasted that they came from a rich background, which added to her eligibility.

Lexi was eventually fired from Below deck Mediterranean Season 6 after a rocky charter. She actually pushed chef Mathew Shea during a crew night out. Captain Sandy is known for giving second chances, but she can’t ignore Lexi’s rights. She initially gave Lexi many chances to improve, but ultimately found that her disruptive presence was affecting the team.

Riley Gerber
below deck
Riley Gerber starred in below deck Seasons 6 and 7, and seemed to expect special treatment from the beginning. She constantly questioned the leadership of her bosses, Chandler Brooks in season 6 and Ashton Pienaar in season 7, refusing to accept their comments. She believed she knew better than them. For example, in season 7, Rhylee often argued with Ashton when assigned tasks, expressing frustration when she was not given equal time at the helm compared to her male counterparts. Although lacking equal opportunities, her experience never matched her demands.
Sexism is rampant in the yachting world, and female leaders like Captain Sandy are fighting for women’s rights in the industry. Rhylee’s skill level doesn’t match her attitude.
Additionally, Rhylee’s combative interactions with the male deckhands often escalated into conflict, such as her clash with Tanner Sterback. Riley would bypass her superiors and go straight to Captain Lee RosbachExpecting him to be with her. This behavior made her one of the most spoiled below deck Cast members from all over the world.

Joe Bradley
Below deck Mediterranean
Joe acts loud and brash during his interactions with female crew members, and while performing his lead deck hand duties. He seems to believe that he is right to the emotions of the girls, especially Brie and Ali. However, when Carrie was added to the crew, he immediately went after her as well. It’s unclear whether Joe and Carrie hooked up or connected in any way romantically after the crew’s night out. However, Joe goes for every woman that comes his way.

But he doesn’t have Gael’s heart, and that bothers him a lot. Joe unfairly criticizes Gael’s work ethic and skills as a deckhand. Gael is the only female deck hand on the Mustique, and he cannot manipulate her emotions due to her relationship with Nathan Gallagher. Joe feels that he is entitled to female attention, and Gael is not giving it to him. However, she’s suffering because of it.

One McLean
Below deck Mediterranean
Iain Maclean managed to keep his job Below deck Mediterranean Season 9, but he should be fired. He was a subpar boss for an entire season, and Captain Sandy gave him too many chances. One key factor is his tendency to be too heavy-handed in terms of showing his authority. Sometimes, he acts as if his decisions are not in question while making stupid mistakes, which Captain Sandy calls him out for. This often leads him to be dismissive of Joe, his leading deckhand. This also gives Joe power he doesn’t necessarily deserve, leading to issues with Gael.

Iain feels entitled to praise from Captain SandyDisagree with her claims that he doesn’t live up to her standards. When faced with conflict, he tends to defend his actions rather than take responsibility, making him appear inflexible and unwilling to compromise. Iain seems to think he deserves to be treated with respect despite his incompetence.

Hannah Ferrier
Below deck Mediterranean
Hannah Ferrier was a strong cook, but in the end she became quite sneaky and arrogant. For example, she was involved in an ongoing power struggle with Captain Sandy, constantly undermining her boss’s authority. For example, during the 5th season, Hannah was reprimanded several times for her poor organizational skills in the interior – she was failing to lead her team. She often responded with indifference, giving the impression that she felt she was superior to protocol.
Hannah likes to play the victim about being fired from Below deck MediterraneanBut she broke sea laws. Captain Sandy’s actions were warranted.
The final nail in the coffin for Hannah was her infamous handling of the Valium and vape pen incident In season 5, that showed her unwillingness to take accountability. She was shocked when Captain Sandy and Molly White addressed the issue, leading to her firing. While Captain Sandy and Hannah’s feud is over, she will always be remembered for the way she handled her Below deck Mediterranean Refuse.

Caroline Bedol
below deck
like a third stew, Caroline Bedol struggled with the demands of the jobOften blames her superiors and coworkers for her inability to keep up. She always complained about Chief Stew Kate Chastain and Second Stew Josiah Carter. Although her main complaints were that she was overworked or treated unfairly, there was no evidence of this on the show. She was unable to handle even the most basic tasks. Then, she played the victim when she was criticized.
Caroline did not seem to understand or adhere to the hierarchy below deckBelieving himself to be above the rules.
She suddenly left the boat with the charter, leaving the crew high and dry. Despite being offered help and understanding by Kate and Josiah, Caroline’s defensiveness and repeated complaints about feeling mistreated paint her as someone who is unwilling to recognize her own faults. Her performance makes her one of the more entitled cast members to ever appear in below deck. Ultimately, it was probably best that she left.
4
Elizabeth Frankini
below deck
Elizabeth Frankini most famously mixed cleaning chemicals, causing a dangerous “mustard gas” situation in the interior. Instead of owning up to her mistake and taking responsibility, Elizabeth downplayed the severity of the situation and blamed her lack of training. Of course, this did not go down well with the chief cook, Francesca Ruby.
Despite receiving constant feedback on laundry and service, she shrugged off her mistakes and didn’t seem to take her job seriously. She also had an ongoing fling with deckhand James Hough, which distracted her from her work. Elizabeth spent more time focusing on this relationship than improving her performance, even after being warned several times. She felt entitled to her position.
She acted hard done by, and eventually, the die was cast. Francesca and Captain Lee let her go. Instead of reflecting on your mistake, Elizabeth blames Francesca for being too harsh. This showed her inability to understand that her disobedience had consequences.

Ashton Pioneer
below deck
Ashton almost killed himself below deckBut his entitlement and arrogance showed that his errors were not honest mistakes. As a boss on below deckHe definitely earned a place on the list. The biggest example is the infamous van incident where he became aggressive towards Kate. Ashton, after a night of drinking, exploded when Kate made a sarcastic comment, leading him to smash the van window and act as if his position on deck gave him reason to treat others with disrespect.
His justification extended to his management style as a boss, where he often delegated tasks in a condescending way, refusing to accept constructive criticism or admit to mistakes. This arrogance was further shown in his interactions with Deckhand Riley, whom he treated dismissively, constantly undermining her skills and questioning her authority simply because she was a woman. Ashton’s expectation that his behavior would be excused because of his role on the boat or his “bro code” mentality with the male crew added to his entitled persona. While Rhylee could be entitled or spoiled, Ashton was far worse.
2
Chef Mila Kolomeitseva
Below deck Mediterranean
Chef Mila Kolomeitseva from Below deck Mediterranean Season 4 quickly became one of the most controversial and entitled cast members in the history of the show. Despite boasting credentials as a Cordon Bleu-trained chef, Milla’s performance was shockingly subpar, and her refusal to take responsibility for her mistakes proved her right. She has the audacity to serve pre-made, canned food, like tacos with store-bought tortillas and nacho cheese, on a high-end yacht charter.
When she is confronted by Captain Sandy, Chef Mila deflects the criticism, insisting she is doing her best. Instead of owning up to her mistakes, she blames everything from kitchen equipment to seasickness for her lackluster performance. Chief Mila also disregarded the input of her fellow crew memberswho expressed concern about food safety when Milla served undercooked steak. Her refusal to cooperate with the crew or listen to feedback demonstrated a sense of entitlement and arrogance that shocked everyone involved.

Eli Dubach
Below deck Mediterranean
There was no more right below deck Cast member like Ali. She started buzzing the third stew Bree almost immediately, and her behavior only worsened when Joe flirted with her and Bree. When Brie tried to stand up for herself, Ali would scream about hierarchy and disrespect, despite doing nothing to ever earn Brie’s respect. She has a desire to become chief cook, but seems to think that being in charge means micromanaging and yelling at her fellow stews.

When Ayesha welcomed a fourth stew on the mustik, Ali should have been happy. Instead, she felt threatened by Carrie O’Neill because of her experience as a chief cook on another ship. Eli proceeded to assert her dominance over Curry, even attempting to usurp the service responsibilities despite Curry’s experience as a bartender. Her right attitude is shocking, and Ali should not go back to it below deck Franchise.
