The cover art and new Owner's Pokémon cards for the Battle Partners set was revealed, as reported by PokéBeach. The reveal showcased the Booster Pack, which will contain special versions of the Trainer's Pokémon, marking the return of the Owner's special Pokémon-type cards. Battle partners will be released in Japan on January 24th, and the cards will likely arrive in the West on March 28th as part of the Journey Together set.
Battle Partners Pokémon TCG Set confirms four new cards
The four new cards join five already known Pokémon cards
The return of the Owner's Pokémon to the TCG was revealed last summer, along with the first cards to appear as the new iteration of the old mechanic. The cards will function as special cards, capable only of evolving from Owner's Pokémon to other Owner's Pokémon, and were introduced in the 2000 set, Gym Heroes. It is known that some cards are already making their way into the set, including Ex Clefairy by Lillie, ex Grimmsnarl by Marnie and Reshiram by N (full and regular art) and Zoroark.
Now, new details have been revealed about Battle partners. The set will include 100 cards (excluding secret rares) and the trainers featured for the Owner's Pokémon so far are N, Lillie, Iono, and Hop. All cards shown in the event are as follows:
N's Darumaka |
Iono's Tablet |
Lillie's Ex Clefairy (holographic) |
N Darmanitan |
Iono's Ex Bellibolt (regular and complete art) |
Lillie's Comfey |
Sigilyph of N – |
Iono's Wattrel |
Lillie Pearl (coach) |
Zorua de N |
Iono kilowattrel |
|
N's Ex Zoroark (holographic) |

|

||

The pack's cover art features Iono's ex Bellibolt, N's ex Zoroark, Lillie's ex Clefairy, and Hop's ex Zacian, and it seems likely that more trainers will be added to the set. The set's featured trainer, however, is Iono, who will appear in accessories and promotional materials related to the set.
More Trainers Will Likely Come for TCG Owner's Pokémon Return
Team Rocket's glory could be part of the comeback
The list of coaches featured in Battle Partners it's already over, with Iono, N, Lillie, Hop and Marnie officially added to the set. However, it seems likely that the list will continue to grow as more cards are revealed for release in Japan in January. According to PokéBeach, the Pokemon the company had previously hinted that Arven's Mabosstiff, Misty's Psyduck, and Ethan's Pichu could come to the TCG.
In addition to these trainers, there is also a set called Team Rocket's Glory which will be released in Japan next spring (and will come to the West under a different name later). While there's no word on whether this set will include Owner's Pokémon, Pokemon Trading Card Game players can You'll soon be able to use many more trainer-specific cards from your favorite trainers.
