Moana 2 reached a milestone that consolidates it as a record success. The film is a sequel to Disney's 2016 animated hit and follows the title character (Auli'i Cravalho) assembling a team and embarking on a new adventure with demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson). The voice cast also includes Hualālai Chung, Rose Matafeo, David Fane, Temuera Morrison, Nicole Scherzinger, Rachel House and Alan Tudyk. THE Moana 2 release began the day before Thanksgiving in the US, reaching a domestic opening of US$139.8 million that weekend.
Put Variety, Moana 2 he has has already reached a total of US$882.5 million at the worldwide box office. In addition to surpassing the $850 million mark, something only 92 other films have done in cinema history, the film is expected to surpass the $1 billion mark worldwide in early 2025.
