What introducing Castiel meant for Supernatural
The Winchester brothers received a new covenant
The introduction of Castiel in Supernatural Marked a turning point in the series. Although Sam and Dean Winchester had other allies, including expert hunter Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver), Castiel was someone who would regularly accompany the brothers on their adventures. Since much of the series has the Winchesters fighting demons, Castiel is able to give them first-hand knowledge about demons and angels that they wouldn’t have without him. Before Castiel, Sam and Dean usually had to rely on Bobby’s expertise or their late father’s hunting journal.

Castiel also allowed the show’s writers to tell different types of stories that they wouldn’t have been able to with Sam and Dean. Throughout the series, Castiel would often learn what a human life was like through the eyes of an angel. This also included times when Castiel would lose his powers and become human himself.
Our take on Castiel being brought up in Supernatural
Collins’ character was a welcome addition to the series
While the introduction of Castiel was a huge change for SSupernaturalThe character became a welcome addition. For the rest of the show, Castiel remained one of Supernaturals most important letters. Throughout the show, Castiel is confused about how humans’ lives serve as comic relief. He also helped give the long-running series more variety when Sam or Dean had to split up and work with Castiel instead of each other.
Although Sam and Dean’s strong brotherhood was the heart of the series, Castiel would often show how much he cared about the Winchesters. When one of the Winchesters was in danger, Castiel was often as concerned as the other brother. Castiel would also challenge Sam and Dean about a decision they were about to make, when it seemed like it was impulsive and could put others at risk. While the first three seasons followed the Winchester without him, it is difficult to imagine Supernatural Without Sam and Dean being joined by Castiel.
