What DC movie Mike Flanagan could make for the DCU
Mike Flanagan could be the perfect director for a Supernatural DCU Project
Mike Flanagan’s work on popular horror movies and shows make him a strong candidate for a dark DCU project. Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill HouseAnd The Haunting of Bly ManorAnd Oculus Show varying degrees of paranormal elements in the horror genre. Ghosts and all manner of evil spirits are par for the course in Flanagan’s horror offerings, and the downward spiral of human characters in moments of crisis is a recurring theme in most of Flanagan’s filmography, including the slightly less supernatural. The Fall of the House of Usher.
Therefore, the best characters for a Mike Flanagan-directed DCU project would be those aligned with the supernatural. For example, the sorceress Zatanna, the half-demon Raven, the cosmic entity Spectre, the spirit deadman, and Etrigan the demon would be ideal characters for Flanagan to tackle on the big or small screen. Although, considering Flanagan’s movies and shows focus more on the drama than the action, the director would likely favor Zatanna and Raven over other, more extravagant DC characters.
