Despite Metaphor: Refantazio‘s long campaign, many players will be eager to begin their New Game+ playthrough and curious about what they can manage. Thankfully, as Atlus has offered in the past with previous games, some vital gameplay elements will carry over, giving players some breathing room with their dungeon deadlines to accomplish other tasks.
However, going over the previous unlocks isn’t the only thing New Game+ players should be excited about in their second game. For those looking for more action, try your hand at the secret boss that is only available once a New Game+ game is initiated, the Redscale Apocalypse Dragon.
How to unlock new game plus
Finish Metaphor’s main campaign: ReFantazio
The way to start New Game + is quite simple and self-explanatory. To unlock this option, you must first complete the entire main campaign and testimonials Metaphor: RefantazioIt’s true ending, in which you will see the screen “Fantasy lives on…” and you can see the credits.
Once the credits are finished, you will be prompted to create a clear data file, where you will start your New Game + Game. It will carry over your entire playtime like other Atlus games have, so don’t be concerned if the file doesn’t appear to start back at 0. Once you open the file and start your playthrough, you’ll officially begin your New Game+ run.
That carries over to New Game Plus
Everything you can bring with you and that will reset in NG +
unfortunately, Not everything will be brought to the New Game+ playthrough, As seen in The game looterss video. Otherwise, key moments in the story wouldn’t make sense anymore, such as having immediate access to all archetypes despite not interacting with the followers associated with them yet. Everything that has been done is only intended to enhance your second playthrough and help you collect achievements that may not have been possible the first time around.

For this reason, many of the more minor aspects of the game will run without any problem, including Cash, MAG, Items, Equipment and Gold Beetles. Note that although items carry over, basic story items, other than those obtained as a reward through bonds, do not. Additionally, you can manage your archetype progress, but you won’t have them unlocked right away. So you will need to unlock the archetypes through story progression again, but once unlocked, they will have all previous progress immediately available.
Perhaps one of the most essential things is your royal virtuesAlso known as your social stats. While this may seem rather trivial, it allows for so much more versatility with your days leading up to various deadlines. Since you won’t have to waste time increasing your Royal Virtues, you can spend it in other ways, including using extra dungeon days just for treasure hunting or to increase your level.
If you haven’t completed your initial playthrough yet, it is highly recommended that you take some time to maximize your royal virtues, as shown in The game looters‘ YouTube video above. This way, you won’t have to worry about them, rather than still spending time getting those last few points.
Although there is a lot to manage, it is worth mentioning that, in some ways, it may not be worth your time to seriously paint levels or things of this nature on your first run, unless you intend to play NG+. The things you should farm, however, are items and equipment since the transfer and are valuable early on, and you’ll be able to use them while you work on grinding your levels back up in your second playthrough.

Open the Book of Apocalypse
Playing through the game a second time with some advantages isn’t the only appealing thing about New Game+ in Metaphor: Refantazio. As you play through the game, you probably encountered a mysterious apocalyptic book in Academia that you couldn’t open or interact with. Despite checking in every time you’re in the room, you can never do anything with the Book of Apocalypse during your first playthrough.

However, those who opt to play through New Game+ will be happy to know that the book is now unlocked. Interacting with it now, as long as you don’t play on the Storyteller difficulty, will allow you to fight a secret boss, the Redscale Apocalypse Dragon. That said, this is a tough fight, and as your levels will reset, it’s not recommended to attempt this until you’ve managed to level it up significantly, despite how tempting it may be to jump right into this secret fight. in Metaphor: Refantazio.
