In a shocking turn of events in Metaphor: ReFantasioGrieus went from being a grizzly bear and a reliable veteran soldier in your squad to being the unlucky boss battler as a member of the undead. The character’s death after his failed attempt to kill Louis at a royal funeral was quite unexpected, but now his battle-hardened skills and some new ones will be used against you. While this isn’t a multi-stage battle, the battle-hardened zombie-like warrior can put up a fight just as tough as when he fought alongside you in the events of the game thus far.
Although Greius no longer has the ability to use any of the Archetypes in Metaphor: ReFantasio as before, his moveset can take any unprepared player by surprise. He has one multi-target attack, “Ghost Dance”and basic attack on one target. It’s a limited skill set, but it’s effective if you’re not prepared. With the right strategy based on your new party member, you will quickly be able to destroy the Undead Grius and see your old friend rest in peace.
Use knight skills
To defeat Grius’s Undead Metaphor: ReFantasioyou need Use Hulkenberg’s new skill “Jump Kick Synthesis”. her Knight Archetype and her standard skill, Knight’s Proclamation, to draw his attention to her. The newly unlocked ability to use Synthesis skills allows you to combine the Archetype powers of two party members to deliver devastating blows at the expense of an additional turn icon. Not only is Jump Thurst an incredibly powerful attack compared to others you could use in the game so far, but it also lowers the target’s defense every time the move is used.
The Knight is resistant to slash damage, so using Knight’s Proclamation to draw Grius’s attention to Hulkenberg will save the rest of the party a lot of health.
This skill makes her one of the strongest Metaphor: ReFantasio characters. However, you should carefully evaluate whether to use the Synthesis skill. This is because it not only uses the move icon for both participating party members, but also consumes the MP cost of using a move like Jump Thrust. As such, you should only be sure to use a move like this if you don’t plan on having your second team member use any specific archetype skills during that turn.

Greius’ Undead Weakness
Light up his afterlife
Among the skills and items that will be available to you in Metaphor: ReFantasio at this moment the Undead Grius has weakness to light damageso your main character should use the Healer archetype and Strohl the Warrior in addition to the Hulkenberg Knight. The Healer has Hama, a Light-based attack, as an innate skill, so it’s not difficult to have this Cleric-like archetype on your team as well. As the name suggests, he can also learn the healing skill “Copper” at level 03.
Healer is great to use here as it offers the best of both worlds, dealing super effective damage to Undead Grius while also healing your party when you need it. Strohl is still best used as a Warrior archetype here to get extra hits with his Slash attack. Since this is a one-stage fight and you can use Hulkenberg’s Knight’s Proclamation to take hits away from him on a single target, you don’t have to spend MAG to unlock another archetype for him beforehand.
Rewards for the battle with the undead boss Greius
Money, magician, experience and souvenir
For defeating the Undead Grius in Metaphor: ReFantasioyour rewards: 250 EXP, 150 A-EXP, 1800 MAG, 2000 Money and item called “Memory of Greius”. There are no specific rewards other than Souvenile Grius, but MAG will be enough to afford purchasing archetypes for some of your party members. Experience can also push any of your participants to the next level. As for Greius himself, his ending is bittersweet: he temporarily regains control of himself before his final death to say that he is leaving the house of the Prince and Mary in your hands.
Hulkenberg conveys his words, claiming that the party will indeed protect both Maria and His Royal Highness. After a cutscene in which the protagonist destroys Muggle’s black crystal, the three return to the Silent Honeybee to check on Maria and Fabienne. For those who play outside Metaphor: ReFantasio demo, this section of the game is generally quite sad. Just remember to use Hulkenberg’s new skills and soak up damage, and that Undead Grius has a weakness to light damage, which is quick but sad. Metaphor: ReFantasio The boss battle will end in victory, which will be yours.
