Mavuika’s ability already has a big problem

THE Genshin Impact 5.3 leaks about Mavuika’s Elemental Ability has already introduced a major issue that will drastically impact gameplay for some characters if not fixed before its official launch in early January.. Pyro Archon has been confirmed as a new playable character coming to HoYoverse’s action RPG in the next update. Along with Citlali, who was also confirmed as a new playable unit, Mavuika is among the four new characters in Genshin Impact 5.3, which should be a great patch for players looking to expand their roster of available heroes.

As is the case with all other Archons, Mavuika is expected to be a 5-star character. It has been confirmed that she uses Pyro as her element in combat, which reflects her role as a Pyro Archon.. HoYoverse hasn’t confirmed any further details about the character other than the fact that she rides a motorcycle, but leaks coming from version 5.3 beta testing are revealing a lot of details about her. In fact, Mavuika leaks Genshin Impact 5.3 points to a promising Pyro DPS and sub-DPS unit, but testing also revealed a major problem with its elemental ability.

Mavuika’s leaked elemental ability has a range issue in Genshin Impact

When flying, your ability does not hit enemies

While the leaked Elemental Skill used by Mavuika should be the core part of her rotation, it has already presented a major problem. As seen in the leaked images provided by the leaker known as GI Kitchen, Mavuika’s Elemental Skill has a problem when it comes to hitting targets due to a limitation on its vertical range. While enemies on the same level as the character, horizontally, are affected by attacks from her leaked ability, when Chasca takes flight, Mavuika’s Pyro DMG does not hit opponents in Genshin Impact.

The leak was shared in a post tagged “Reliable” about Redditand in addition to the footage, there were also comments made by the leaker known as Uncle Balls in response to the post. The post mentions that the range of Mavuika’s Elemental Skill is 10 units, but that this is applied differently when the active character is at a different elevation.. Thus, when the active character as Wanderer or Chasca in Genshin Impact begins to fly, the range of Mavuika’s leaked ability begins to be reduced, not reaching enemies as it should.

Mavuika’s leaked ability could negatively affect team compositions in Genshin Impact

Character issue seems more like a bug than a deliberate choice

The leaked problem with Mavuika’s Elemental Skill is very terrible. Chasca is one of Natlan’s main DPS units, and given the synergy that Natlan’s characters have due to the Nightsoul mechanic, Mavuika’s off-field Pyro DMG should work alongside Chasca. If Chasca can’t rely on Mavuika’s DMG, then characters leading Anemo DPS may have no reason to pull for Pyro Archon. Additionally, Mavuika is expected to be the central character in Natlan teams, as most Natlan characters in Genshin Impact have some bonus when interacting with the Pyro.

Kinich, for example, gains bonuses when Burn or Explosion Reactions are triggered, while Mualani also benefits from Vaporization Reactions. They require Pyro interaction and Mavuika is expected to be the best in this category thanks to her empowerment of other Natlan characters who consume Nightsoul points and activate Nightsoul Burstsfor example. Overall, the issue with Mavuika’s leaked Elemental Ability should not persist if the character is set to be one of the most important characters released in Genshin Impact this year.

Mavuika is shaping up to be an amazing playable character, as all of the Archons in the game have received some sort of special treatment when it comes to their play kit. Nahida is still one of Dendro’s strongest characters, while Furina’s hybrid play kit makes her a staple in various team compositions. Mavuika’s leaked hybrid build as a Nightsoul-focused Pyro main DPS and off-field Pyro sub-DPS makes her seem like an interesting attractionas it would significantly expand options for players, much like the Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact 5.3.

However, as credible as the leaks may seem, they should still be taken with a grain of salt. As previously mentioned, the issue with Mavuika’s leaked ability appears more like a bug than a design choice, and could be fixed before its official release in a few weeks. If that’s the case, players might have a chance to get one of the most reliable off-field Pyro characters yet. More details should emerge as beta testing continues and Genshin Impact is getting closer and closer to version 5.3.
