After the fall of Krakoa, the X-Men franchise From the ashes the relaunch introduced several young mutant heroes to Marvel Comics, and a new recruit has just been revealed to have a significant role in a potential future. Spotted by Bishop and Cable as they traverse time and preview Marvel's upcoming 2025 stories, one of Marvel's new heroes Exceptional X-Men draws attention to convey an important message.
Time slip #1 – written by Steve Foxe, with art by Ivan Fiorelli – features a slightly older and more experienced version of Trista Marshall, who assists Cable and Bishop when they end up in “the near future”During his battle against the time-devouring villain Vacuna. In his brief appearance, Trista, aka Bronze, displays a chilling list of important moments or events that promise to shake the Marvel Universe.
Bronze features some stories currently in progress in the comics, such as A world under destruction and Eight Spider-Man deathsand the list triggers potentially massive events, including Final Raid and XVX.

How "one of the few remaining X-Men” in this future, and whoever has the honor of sharing Marvel's big preview for 2025, It looks like Bronze has the potential to be the biggest new mutant to debut in 2024. When she appears in Time slipshooting down a War-Lock drone and helping X veterans Bishop and Cable, it's surprising that one of the X-Men's rookies is established as one of the remaining mutant heroes in this version of the future. Along with the list he created, Bronze warns that Apocalypse's heir, Apocalypse, has finally continued the villain's plans.
Created by Eve Ewing and Carmen Carnero for Exceptional X-Men #1, Bronze is still learning to hone his metallic mutant powers under the guidance of Kitty Pryde, Emma Frost, and Bobby Drake. She was taken under Kitty's wing in her first appearance, taught to embrace her identity as a mutant and Time slipThe future version of James sees her as one of mutantkind's last hopes. She also cites Jitter from Mysterious X-Men as one of the mutants she's still working with, but Bronze appears to be taking on a more proactive role than is teased in Time slip.

An exceptional debut
Of the major mutant characters debuting in the new X-Men teams this year as mutants rise from the ashes, Bronze seems to be the standout character of the group so far. In Exceptional X-MenTrista already seemed to develop the most meaningful relationship with Kitty Pryde, mirroring Kitty's relationship with Storm when she joined the team. In just a few appearances, Bronze brings new energy to the X-Men and his potential action-packed future is revealed in Time slip already sees her become one of the most important members of the team as she enters a new era in Marvel Comics.

As Jitter is also mentioned, she and the other new mutants introduced in 2024 will certainly still be able to take on vital roles as their stories unfold. However, Trista's appearance in Time slip signals that she's not just a fan favorite, but also a Marvel Comics favorite, and that alone could make her more prominent in her future stories.
