Marvel Officially Debuts The Ultimate Version Of Wolverine And Deadpool (And They’re Best Friends)

Warning: Contains spoilers for Spectacular Spider-Man #6’s “Weapon X-Traction” Part 7! Deadpool And Wolverine Arguably making one of the best duos in Marvel Comics history, something that was just solidified in the live-action MCU blockbuster, Deadpool & Wolverine. However, even though they are an iconic team, the two don’t exactly get along. Not their main-continuity selves, anyway, because there are versions of Deadpool and Wolverine in the multiverse who are actually best friends – including their “superior” variants.

in Weapon X-rays Part 7 (of 8) by Ryan North and Javier Garrón (which can be found at the end of Spectacular Spider-Men #6 by Greg Weisman and Humberto Ramos), Deadpool and Wolverine come face-to-face with a cosmic being known as Atleza Langunn. Langunn took Earth-616’s Deadpool and Wolverine from their universe and gave them a multiverse-spanning adventure to continue together for one specific purpose: to make them best friends.

In every other universe, Deadpool and Wolverine are besties. It is only in Earth-616 that they can not stand each other, and this cosmic being wanted to change that. However, the two fail to spark a true friendship, and as a result, the multiverse is in grave danger. So, Atleza Langunn recruits the two best versions of Deadpool and Wolverine to help them save the multiverse: Superior Deadpool and Superior Wolverine.

At this point, very little is known about the “superior” variants of Deadpool and Wolverine, other than that they are best friends and are more conventionally attractive than the Earth-616 versions. Based on what Atleza Langunn revealed about the countless other Wolverine and Deadpool variants scattered across the multiverse (and where the two stand between them), the strength of their friendship is really what makes them superior, giving them the power to save the entire multiverse.

Of course, this is totally absurd in the most hilarious way possible, as the comic claims that Deadpool and Wolverine would be cosmic-level heroes if only they tapped into the ‘power of friendship’. But then again, maybe it’s not so crazy after all. Deadpool and Wolverine are practically immortal, and if they worked together full-time and weren’t distracted by their petty arguments, maybe they could be unstoppable just like their “superior” counterparts claim to be.

Superior Deadpool & Superior Wolverine just beg for an MCU adaptation

After the events of Deadpool & WolverineThe two iconic X-Men Heroes/antiheroes are now firmly established in the MCU, as are each of their multiversal variants – which may include their “superior” counterparts. With the comedic tone surrounding the nature of the characters’ existence, Superior Deadpool and Superior Wolverine are just begging to be in the MCU, as they would perfectly fit into Deadpool’s established corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which would allow them to shine in Truly hilarious mode.

Regardless of whether they get the MCU treatment, it is interesting to consider that there are versions of Deadpool and Wolverine in the multiverse that are better than the classic characters, with the main reason being that they are best friends and can therefore handle multiverse. Emergencies. Perhaps Earth-616s Deadpool And Wolverine will reach this level, but until then, fans will have to be satisfied with their “high” variants, which use the power of friendship (and beauty) to reach their final forms.
