Elsa Bloodstone is set to become the next Captain Britain

By wearing Captain America's mask, Elsa gains super strength, speed and agility, while the power of her Bloodgem extends to her chest and new shield. Although she sports the stripes of the American flag, the overall tone of her outfit is quite similar to that of the British Union Jack hero. However, unlike the Union Jack, she has a firm connection with the mystical arts. Elsa's powers come from Bloodstone, an ancient artifact that gives her near-immortal life and several magical properties and immunities.

Elsa may have been born in Massachusetts, but his identity and personality remain strongly rooted in his life in Britain. She is often characterized by the same stereotypes that readers would encounter in Captain Britain or the Union Jack. Throughout this series, she frequently mocks her teammates for their Americanized tendencies. And although she never dresses as patriotically as she vocalizes, it's not hard to notice her pride and confidence when wearing a costume with a patriotic feel, even if it's American. If given the chance, Elsa might not turn down the chance to become Captain Britain.

Betsy Braddock has given up her role as Captain Great Britain, and Elsa Bloodstone must take it over

Elsa is the perfect choice to succeed the Braddocks

There is currently a vacancy for the interim title of Captain Great Britain. Although Betsy Braddock still holds the title, she has renounced England for his passive stance during the Orchis invasion of Krakoa. Now she serves in X-Force, officially abandoning her Captain Britain costume as well. However, Captain Britain is not the same type of hero as Captain America; the title serves a much greater purpose. More than just a patriotic super soldier, Captain Britain is just one of many chosen by Merlyn across the multiverse to protect his realities and the fantastical Arthurian dimension called the Otherworld.

With Betsy relinquishing her duties as Captain Britain to focus on the ongoing fight for mutant rights, someone else needs to fill the role.

Captain Britain” is not just a title; it is a mystically bound duty that requires a hero to bear his name for the sake of protecting Earth-616. With Betsy relinquishing her duties as Captain Britain to focus on the ongoing fight for mutant rights, someone else needs to fill the role. Now, Marvel has shown that Elsa Bloodstone has what it takes to be that hero. She is a master of the mystical arts and a renowned strategist. Powerful and honorable, with radiant pride in her homeland, Elsa Bloodstone would be the perfect successor to Captain Great Britain.

Blood Hunters #5 is now available from Marvel Comics.
