Marvel just reinvented Spider-Man's spider-sense for one of its most famous villains

from Sony Kraven the Hunter introduced a new version of Spider-Man's famous “Spidey Sense,” which Tom Holland's Spider-Man only addressed until very recently in the MCU. Peter Parker's Spider-Sense appeared early in Spider-Man's MCU timeline, specifically when Holland's Spider-Man dodged an attack from Bucky Barnes in Captain America: Civil War. Later, Aunt May taunted Peter by punching her “Peter Tingle” in Spider-Man: Far From Homeand “Peter Tingle” made a notable appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Homewhen Spider-Man identified Norman Osborn as the supposedly redeemed villain who would soon betray him.

Sony's Spider-Man Universe has made significant changes to its main characters. For example, Venom's iconic white spider emblem never appeared in the Poison trilogy, Michael Morbius gained the ability to control bats in Morbiusand Cassandra Webb is a young woman in Lady Teia2003 New York version. Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Sergei Kravinoff aka Kraven is no exception, as Sony's Kraven the Hunter makes several changes to the titular antihero. The most obvious change, of course, is that Sony's Kraven Gains Superhuman Abilities From Lion's Biteaggravated by Calypso's elixir.

Kraven's powers are much better than the comics

Kraven the Hunter Makes Sergei Kravinoff a Scarier Version of Spider-Man

In Sony's Spider-Man universe, young Sergei Kravinoff is attacked by a legendary lion called “the Czar.” With the help of Calypso's elixir, Kraven dies and comes back to life with superpowers such as super strength, super agility, super speed, enhanced senses and a sixth sense.. Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kraven is more agile than Quicksilver, as he is able to effortlessly avoid a barrage of gunfire. Kraven's agility also allows him to scale any structure extremely quickly, and his super strength allows him to withstand powerful blows. During the fight, Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kraven looks like an animal, or rather, a sinister version of Spider-Man.

Kraven's abilities generally don't seem as imposing in the comics as they do in the Sony films Kraven the Hunter

In the comics, Kraven the Hunter also gains enhanced abilities from Calypso's elixirs, but he has no real superpowers inherent to his body. Marvel Comics' Kraven is simply talented and disciplined enough to torment Spider-Man as much as powerful supervillains like Electro, Sandman, Venom, and the Green Goblin. In the source material, Kraven relies on his aim, strategy, and weapons expertise. Although he has faced off against the likes of Captain America, Black Panther, Beast, Wolverine, and Deadpool, Kraven's abilities generally don't seem as imposing in the comics as they do in Sony's films. Kraven the Hunter.

Kraven has his own version of Spidey Sense

Kraven the hunter has a sixth sense inspired by the lion's eyes

Sergei Kravinoff's eyes turn yellow in Kraven the Hunter

An additional ability that Sony Kraven the Hunter gives its titular character a sort of “lion vision” that Kraven can activate to see across long distances, see in the dark, and detect approaching attacks. Kraven's eyes turn bright yellow and his senses seem sharper when he uses his sixth sense.. At one point, Kraven instinctively activates his lion vision to see an enemy firing a rocket at him, and he is able to jump before it destroys the building. This scene suggests that Kraven's lion vision works similarly to Spider-Man's Spider-Sense or “Spider-Sense”.

The lion tsar that attacked Kraven in his childhood has similar yellow eyes. Therefore, it appears that Kraven inherited this lion's mystical connection to nature, which may be why he can communicate with animals and command them to follow his will. While Kraven the Hunter does not portray Kraven's animal manipulation as as overt a superpower as Morbius', it appears to be tied to Kraven's “lion vision”.

Honestly, Kraven’s “Lion Vision” is better than Spider-Man’s

Kraven the Hunter's sixth sense has a huge advantage over Spider-Man's Spider-Sense. While Peter Parker's Spider-Sense kicks in automatically and unexpectedly, Kraven can activate his sixth sense whenever he wants.. Kraven also appears to have much more control over his ability, as he can zoom in and out of his vision at will and can direct his instinct towards enemies he wants to attack and areas he wants to inspect. Spider-Man often needs some time to read his Spider-Sense, and sometimes receives mixed signals about its meaning.

Spider-Man's Spider-Sense also seems to depend on his mood. In Spider-Man: Far From HomePeter Parker wanted to trust Quentin Beck because he saw Mysterio as a mentor figure who could replace Iron Man. Peter's confidence caused his Spider-Sense to go dormant and ignore all clues pointing to Mysterio's villainous intentions. Likewise, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man was so focused on calming Tom Holland's Spidey in Spider-Man: No Way HomeIt was in the final battle that his Spider-Sense did not activate when the Green Goblin stabbed him in the back. Kraven the Hunter suggests that Kraven's Lion Vision does not have this weakness due to its deliberate nature.
