Although the heroes emerged victorious when Varnae’s control over Blade crumbled and his apocalyptic plans were dissolved, there remains a lingering illness that has not yet been cured. During the Endless Night attack, Miles Morales fell victim to the vampire’s curse, turning him into a mindless drone driven by desire and violence. Thanks to
Doctor Strange’s efforts
Miles was able to maintain his sense of humanity while still carrying the curse. Even without Varnae’s corruption, the famine persists. The need to hunt remains.
Struggling to stay focused, fighting the excruciating pain and inevitable urges of her bloodlust, Elsa Bloodstone offers Miles a moment of relief. Using her monster-neutralizing powers, Elsa temporarily prevents Miles’ curse, freeing him from his vampiric compulsions. However, she warns Miles that this will pass and when it does, the hunger will return stronger than before. With or without Dagger, Miles’ vampirism goes beyond a simple curse.
Miles was bitten by Blade
. Through Blade, Miles was bitten by Varnae, the world’s first vampire and acolyte of Chthon. This curse has no cure.
Miles is not strong enough to resist the vampire’s curse
Spider-Man was once a victim of Carnage’s corruption
When Spider-Man’s vampirism desires return, there will be no avoiding it. Just like Peter Parker, Miles has to hold back. He has to numb his senses and practice restraint in every movement. Miles especially surpasses Peter’s power. In addition to his camouflage abilities, Mile’s control of bioelectricity makes him a significantly more powerful mutant. So what happens when cravings return and inhibitions disappear? Without restrictions, both Spider-Men could easily kill their opponents with a single hit. When Doc Oc took control of Peter’s body, he punched Scorpion in the jaw, not realizing Peter’s strength.
Spider-Man’s desires will return in full force, that’s a fact. Elsa can’t cure Miles. Dagger can’t heal Miles. No one can do it more than Blade or Dracula. Unfortunately for Miles, this isn’t the first time he’s been taken over by a dark presence and succumbed to its corruption; Once, Carnage held Miles’ throat in his red grip. What happens next is clear, Miles Morales will fall and in his place will arise a demon driven by a bottomless hunger, armed with immeasurable power and devoid of restrictions.
