Things are about to get crazy when Godzilla and his collection of enemies arrive in the Marvel Universe and face the infamous world-eater Galactus. Next year, the King of the Monsters will star in an epic crossover event that will unite him with Marvel's greatest heroes and villains, while Godzilla's enemies will have their own unique showdowns.
Marvel Comics and Godzilla.com announced that next March, the comics publisher would launch Godzilla vs Marvela six-issue crossover event that would pit the film's famous kaiju against heroes like Thor and Spider-Man. The series will span several decades, starting with Godzilla x Fantastic Four by Ryan North and John Romita, Jr.
However, it won't just be the King of the Monsters fighting Marvel's First Family. The comic book too see Galactus selecting Godzilla's nemesis King Ghidorah as Galactus' new herald and imbuing him with the Power Cosmic, making the evil kaiju more powerful than ever.
Galactus is giving cosmic power to Godzilla's nemesis King Ghidorah
This dangerous alliance probably won't last
King Ghidorah is one of Godzilla's most recurring enemies and the closest thing he has to an archenemy. The three-headed alien is a cruel and powerful being from space, who often comes to Earth with one intention: to destroy all life on Earth. No matter his true motivations, King Ghidorah brings chaos to the world in the same way that Godzilla tries to restore order. Although Godzilla has always emerged victorious in his battles against giant monsters, King Ghidorah's brute strength and surprising power set allowed him to get the upper hand on Godzilla countless times.
The idea of King Ghidorah becoming a herald of Galactus is truly terrifying. The kaiju is one of the most powerful monsters in existence in its own right and giving it the Power Cosmic would transform it into a true god. Another thing to consider is that King Ghidorah doesn't take orders from anyone, even a divine entity like Galactus. Granted, King Ghidorah wouldn't be the first herald to attack the outrageously powerful force. But what will happen when these two unstoppable forces reach a stalemate (and Godzilla will be able to do something about it)?
Galactus x King Ghidorah could destroy the Marvel Universe
The Fantastic Four will need to improve Godzilla
The Fantastic Four have been dealing with Galactus and his heralds for years, but throwing in a wild card like King Ghidorah only makes the situation even more dangerous. Before any potential battles can occur, the team will need to remove King Ghidorah (because they definitely won't be able to get rid of Galactus easily). Maybe giving Godzilla some super advanced technology or weaponry would help. Even the Silver Surfer could share some of his power to help him take on the new and improved King Ghidorah. But something needs to happen, because otherwise, Godzilla enemy can destroy the Marvel Universe.
Godzilla vs Marvel is available from Marvel Comics in March 2025.
