Which Ultimates member will be killed by the Hulk?
Marvel’s original Ultimate Universe may confirm who Ultimate will die
The new Ultimate Universe is a dark reflection of the original Ultimate Universe from Earth-1610 and the main Marvel Comics continuity from Earth-616. Therefore, the events of the other universes may clue fans on what to expect from Earth-6160 – including the upcoming death. The Avengers have suffered a number of losses throughout the team’s extensive Marvel Comics history, and almost none of them have been permanent, so it’s nearly impossible to get any clues about the continuity. However, the original Ultimate Universe killed two of the original members of the Ultimates in a much more permanent capacity, and the heroes just so happen to be on the new Ultimates in Earth-6160: Giant-Man and the Wasp.
Giant-Man and the Wasp were Killed in Ultimatumand were the only founders of the Ultimates that existed. They did not return until the entire universe was reset some time later, making their deaths permanent in regard to the original Ultimate Universe’s main canon. Could this mean that Giant-Man or Wasp will share the same fate in Earth-6160 as their Earth-1610 counterparts? Now it is impossible to say. But if the new Ultimate Universe pulls from the original in this upcoming storyline, it would be a safe bet that one of the two will meet their end.
Why the Ultimates are fighting Hulk in the first place
The Hulk is a major villain in Marvel Comics’ New Ultimate Universe
While the Hulk may be a hero in Earth-616 and Earth-1610 (with his status slightly more questionable in the latter), he is a despicable villain in Earth-6160. The Hulk is a member of the Maker’s Council. He is a cult leader who plots with other Maker’s Council members – including the Maker himself – to rule the world in the most heartless, self-serving ways imaginable. If the Ultimates want to take down the Maker’s Council, getting rid of the Hulk is paramount. Unfortunately, that’s easier said than done, and one of the Ultimates is learning this lesson the hard way.
