‘Pools of Blood Pits’ both Deadpools vs Spider-Man Miles Morales in one big crossover
A twist on an iconic Marvel team
While Spider-Man and Deadpool have often been paired up in Marvel Comics, Miles’ version of the Webslinger hasn’t faced off against the Big Mouth in such a major crossover, as he will in Pools of Blood. The series pits him against two generations of ‘Pools and puts an interesting twist on the dynamic between Miles and Ellie Camacho that Marvel previously teased. It’s still unclear who hired Wade and Ellie for the job, but the contract promises to cause friction between father and daughter, with Miles caught in the middle.
With writer Cody Ziglar leading this crossover between Dead Pool and Miles Morales: Spider-ManBoth series are building towards these connections and could be greatly impacted following these characters’ conflict. Miles and Ellie have already had their first fight in the supporting story of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25and the two legacy heroes immediately established a relationship that will come into play in the next Pools of Blood. As Wade Wilson returns to action after his recent “death,” he will have to figure out how to defeat a new Spider-Man and work and communicate effectively with his daughter.
The “Pools Of Blood” event could break family ties and unite a predestined duo
Predicting the Long-Term Implications of the 4-Issue Arc
As Marvel is already teasing that their task of eliminating Spider-Man will bring Wade and Ellie into conflict, the Pools of Blood The crossover event could be what finally separates the two Deadpools after having made huge strides in their relationship. Although Wade wasn’t very present in Ellie’s life as a child, he really stood up for her when she decided to follow in her father’s footsteps and become her own version of Deadpool. As Ellie’s Deadpool befriends Miles’ Spider-Man when his father is hired to eliminate him, their disagreement may force Ellie to choose a side.
With superhero action and a substantial number of jokes that will be heavily featured in the four-part event, the crossover is also an important next chapter for all of the main characters involved.
