All characters in No good deed They had their own secrets – that's the whole point. Paul and Lydia themselves waited for enough time to pass before putting their house up for sale so they wouldn't have to reveal that their son had been murdered in the house. It is eventually revealed in No good deedin the final episodes that they were being so deceitful to protect their daughter, Emily, that she shot her brother with a 9mm pistol at the exact moment he was killed. Margo killed Jacob without a good deed, not Emily
There were two guns on the scene that night
Jacob was burglarizing houses before his death and when he entered his home wearing a ski mask Emily assumed he was an intruder and shot him with the family gun. Paul and Lydia, trying to protect Emily while defending Jacob's reputation, made the scene look as if a burglar had killed Jacob and everything was swept under the rug. However, the events of No good deed led Lydia and Paul to discover that there were two bullet casings found and hidden that terrible night, even though Emily had only fired once.
When Lydia (with the help of prospective home buyer Leslie) examined the autopsy report, she discovered that a .40 caliber pistol killed Jacob – not the 9mm owned by the Morgans. That meant Emily's shot must have missed. A later flashback reveals that Margo Starling shot Jacob in the back as soon as he entered her house and at the same time Emily fired her gun. Of course, the Morgans never saw exactly how it happened, but they deduced that Margo was responsible when they learned of her disturbing history with Jacob.

It turns out that Margo's extravagant tastes are precisely why Jacob started burglarizing houses – he was stealing gifts to give to someone he naively thought was his lover. Margo confronted him and Jacob threatened to tell JD everything and ran back to his house. Afraid of being caught, Margo chased Jacob with her husband's .40 caliber gun and shot the boy before returning to his home as if nothing had happened.
Margo's real name and brother explained
Luann and Bobby were partners in crime
Margo sleeping with and then murdering a teenager is a terrible secret, but it's far from her first. When she and Lydia had a heart-to-heart No good deed, Margo said her brother died in a house fire when they were little. She had left a heater on and the house caught fire. However, later, when JD went to sell his boat to pay for Morgan's house, he found a man named Bobby living in it, who claimed to be the brother of someone named “Luann.” Of course, this was none other than Margo, whose brother certainly hadn't died after all.
Margo's fire story was partially true – Bobby proved it by showing JD the burn scars. However, it was about the extent of the woman's honesty. It is eventually revealed that Margo's real name is Luann and that She and Bobby were raised in poverty and resorted to elaborate scams to improve their situation in life.. While marriage to a wealthy celebrity certainly accomplished that, it was just one step in Margo/Luann's overarching plan. As the character herself said in No good deedshe was playing the long game. It is for this reason that Margo murdered Jacob, as the boy breaking up her marriage would have ruined all of her hard work.
Why Luann pretended to be Margo to meet JD
Luann and Bobby's Big Plan Explained
Together, Luann and Bobby arranged a cute date by warning about a bomb threat at an airport. After “Margo” met JD, it wasn't long before the soap opera star married her. This allowed her to live in luxury, buying expensive handbags and decorating her mansion with ridiculous appliances and designs. In the meantime, Bobby was living on the couple's boat, unbeknownst to JD, as Margo had lied about losing her brother when he was just 10 years old. Of course, Luann's goal wasn't to stay married to a celebrity forever. She wanted her own wealth, and to get it, all she had to do was wait for the prenup.
If JD found out his wife was having an affair with a teenager when Jacob threatened to tell the truth, he would have divorced Margo and she would have been left with nothing. However, If she stayed married long enough, she would keep half of J.D.'s wealth. Unfortunately for Luann, all her planning came to nothing as she had miscalculated. She spent so much of JD's money that he had nothing left to share with her, even though the marriage lasted longer than the terms of the prenup. At the end of No good deedMargo demanded the house. However, as JD illuminated everything, this woman from “lies and Gucci“It was a toast.
