What this means for M3GAN 2.0

Many details are still under wraps

M3GAN appears empty in M3GAN

This new image doesn’t seem to reveal much about the setting or plot of the new film, especially since it appears to have been taken in a production office rather than on one of the film’s sets. However, the killer doll appears to have approximately the same design as the previous editionwith her expressionless face and prim outfit. This makes sense because it was designed to be mass marketed, so it can come back to haunt the return. M3GAN the cast is likely the result of these original designs.

The doll may be yet another representation of Cady’s complicated relationship with her traumatic childhood…

However, it highlights the fact that Cady will be visibly older in the new filmas McGraw was 10 during principal photography of the first film and is now 13. This will likely change her character’s relationship with the titular doll considerably. While M3GAN was an insidious influence in the original film because Cady formed a strong childhood bond with her new toy after her parents’ death, in the new film the doll may be more of a representation of Cady’s complicated relationship with her traumatic childhood. as she leaves it behind.

Can the magic of M3GAN be recaptured?

M3GAN appears extremely broken in M3GAN

So far, this first look at the sequel shows that the film has preserved as many of the original elements that made the first film such a success as possible. This likely means there will be more carnage, more mystery, and new attempts to capture a viral dance moment. It remains to be seen whether this will be successful, as M3GAN reviews earned the original film a Certified Fresh 93% Rotten Tomatoes score and worldwide grosses of $181 million against a budget of $12 million, so Follow-up has big shoes to fill.
