Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films’ Live Action Lords of the Universe Reboot has cast one of Enternia’s key villains, the witch Evil-Lyn. Evil-Lyn, serving as Skeletor’s second-in-command, was a key part of these Lords of the Universe franchise since its inception in the early 1980s. Originally voiced by the late Linda Gary, her character’s first live-action incarnation was played by Meg Foster in the 1987 movie starring Dolph Lundgren. More recently, her character was also voiced by Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey for Netflix’s animated series Masters of the Universe: Revolution.
Per Mattel Films, the new Lords of the Universe Reboot did Figure Glow s Alison Brie as the latest live-action Evil-Lyn. The latest casting announcement comes on the heels of Riverdales Camila Mendes is cast as Eternia’s captain of the Royal Guard, Teela. Meanwhile, Nicholas Galitsin (The thought of you) was first announced as Prince Adam, aka Er-Man, back in May of this year. The continued casting announcements also bode well for a project that has faced multiple setbacks and delays over the years.

Bree’s casting as Evil-Lyn not only points to increased momentum on the oft-delayed Lords of the Universe reboot, but it also provides an interesting counterpoint to the announcement of Mendes as Teela. Evil-Lyn’s original action figure is often considered to be the direct opposite of Teela, except for her color scheme and head. However, with Mendes’ Teela now getting her own nemesis, Lords of the Universe Fans will likely start wondering When the main antagonist of the franchise will be revealed.
Many fans have even gone as far as to suggest that casting the role of Skeletor may require selecting an established and well-known actor to do the role justice.

As such, the director Travis Knight chooses as his Skeletor will likely have a daunting task ahead of him to bring such an iconic villain to life. With the new one Lords of the Universe Reboot currently in the release date of June 2026, it is likely that the audience will increasingly begin to learn more about which actors have been selected to take on the franchise’s assortment of iconic characters. However, aside from the role of Prince Adam himself, few casting decisions are likely to generate the same kind of pre-release buzz as Skeletor. With three key roles already filled, such an announcement could likely be just around the proverbial corner.
