Valerie Bertinelli will not return to the Children's Baking Championship
In January 2024, Valerie revealed that she was fired from her position as co-host and judge on the Children's Baking Championship due to budget cuts. She was devastated by the news and admitted that it really hurt her. At the time, Valerie's replacement was not announced.
However, in an Instagram post from October 2024, Kardea announced that she will be the new presenter and judge of Children's Baking Championship. Kardea had previously served as host and judge for some of the Children's Baking Championship meeting specialsalongside Duff Goldman. In her post, Kardea said her new role means a lot to her and that it comes full circle because she started her career in children's social services almost 16 years ago. She wrote that she has been a social worker, teacher and counselor and loves working with children.
Kardea added that not only will she have the opportunity to see the little bakers doing what they love, but she will also have the chance to work with Duff, who she truly admires. Kardea emphasized that she could never replace what has been built over the last decade and is so grateful to be a part of it. During the November 4, 2024 episode of The Drew Barrymore ShowKardea and Valerie appeared. Valerie praised Kardea by stating that Children's Baking Championship Now it's in excellent hands. They then bonded over how much they loved the kids on the show.
In addition to the change of host and judge, Children's Baking Championship the 13th season will have a special theme. THE Children's Baking Championship The Season 13 premiere will feature a parrot named Chicken and a cockatoo named Teva, who will help Duff and Kardea welcome the 12 bakers to the jungle-themed kitchen. The bakers' first challenge will be to make a pie with an animal texture and features such as scales, feathers, hair or fins. Challenge twist requires bakers to make an edible tail for their creation.
