Cooper Norris (Jacob Lofland) and Ariana (Paulina Chávez)'s relationship in Landman it was always going to happen, but it should have waited until the second season to start. Cooper and Ariana have become increasingly close since her husband, Elvio Medina (Alejandro Akara) died along with several other characters from Landman in the oil rig explosion. Initially, Ariana liked Cooper because he made her laugh for the first time since Elvio's death, and Cooper began helping her around the house, mowing the lawn, and taking care of her finances. At the end of Landman in episode 7, however, he went into a lot more depth.
Cooper's growing relationship with Ariana caused some problems in Landman. In Landman episode 5, Cooper was attacked by some of Elvio's friends, and they beat him so badly that he was hospitalized. Ariana ended up visiting him in the hospital, which also gave her the opportunity to meet all of Cooper's family members at the same time. So Cooper stayed at her house instead of his, setting the stage for their relationship to get more serious. Ariana and Cooper's relationship has been a whirlwind of major developments happening one after the other, and it should have been slower.
Cooper and Ariana kissed in Landman episode 7
Cooper stayed at Ariana's house after leaving the hospital and slept in her bed
After a bit of buildup, Cooper and Ariana finally kissed Landman episode 7. Cooper, ever the gentleman, told Ariana to sleep on the bed instead of the couch, and the two began cuddling throughout the night. When morning came, they kissed before being interrupted by Rebecca (Kayla Wallace) and Nathan (Colm Feore). Why Cooper and Ariana's Romance Should Have Waited Until Landman Season 2
Cooper and Ariana are still grieving and their relationship isn't as healthy as it should be
Although Landman has been slowly building the romantic tension between Ariana and Cooper for several episodes, the show should have waited longer for it to come to fruition. The beginning of their relationship proves this. Cooper and Ariana only met because they both went through great trauma: Ariana losing her husband and Cooper witnessing the deaths of three men. They've had even more problems since then, with Manuel's attack and the pressure Ariana is getting from Rebecca to sign the deal. Their entire relationship is built on loss and pain, and it seems like they should have waited longer and healed more before dating.
Thanks to Rebecca and Nathan's interruption, Cooper and Ariana can take a step back and process their grief more fully before falling in love.
After all the drama and tragedy that Ariana and Cooper went through in Landmantheir relationship deserves a slower burn. Currently, the two are just managing one crisis after another and have not had the opportunity to meet each other under normal circumstances. Cooper and Ariana could have become friends when they got to know each other better and then started a relationship when they realized they were both attracted to each other.. In fact, they only got together a week or two after meeting, which simply wasn't enough time to ensure that their pain wasn't the main source of attraction.
If Ariana and Cooper's relationship is going to work, they shouldn't start a full-fledged romantic relationship just yet. Happily, Landman There's still a chance to lower the temperature between them. Thanks to Rebecca and Nathan's interruption, Cooper and Ariana can take a step back and process their grief more fully before falling in love. This would prepare them to have a much more stable and healthy relationship in Landman season 2. It would also be in LandmanIt's in the best interest of keeping their relationship simmering, as many viewers will likely keep coming back to see Cooper and Ariana get closer.
