While neither has heard any solid news about the renewal, both would like to return for another season, with Randolph expressing his hopes that the show will continue and reprise her role as Ainsley”as long as possible.” Delving a little deeper into her character, Randolph explains that Ainsley has “so much potential“, and she would like to see Ainsley”meet” and “defend herself.” Check out what she said below:

What would you like to see come from Ainsley in the future, if a second season or beyond were to happen?
Randolfo: I want to see her find herself. I want to see her defend herself. I want her to have opinions and boundaries and grow, and I think there's a lot of potential for her character moving forward.
Chávez also confirmed that she “[hasn’t] I heard something“, but she will stay”optimistic“about the potential renewal of the show's second season, especially now with Thorton's Golden Globe nomination for his lead performance. For now, the actor has it”fingers crossed“that Landman will be chosen for another season. Check out what she said below:
Chavez: My God, I haven't heard anything, but I want to remain optimistic. Billy Bob Thornton was nominated for a Golden Globe for the show, so, I mean, I don't know, fingers crossed.
What This Means for Landman Season 2 Chances
The show has powerful female characters
Ainsley and Ariana are family members who work in the oil industry. Although they don't work in the fields like the men in the family do, their lives are directly impacted by what happens. Ainsley is hopeful for Angela and Tommy's reconciliation and has not yet grasped the danger and threats surrounding her seemingly peaceful life. However, this season has put Ainsley through some ups and downs with her breakup, sibling rivalry with Cooper, and her brother's attack. Randolph's comment resonates with the fact that there is still so much more to explore about Ainsley.
Ariana becomes a single mother after her husband died during the platform explosion in Landman episode 1, with the season exploring your real-life pain and challenges and how the oil company deals with her husband's death. Chávez and Randolph's eagerness to return to Landman The second season indicates how successful Sheridan's show is in creating compelling female characters who are not flowers in a male-dominated industry but are an integral part of the story.
