Kraven the Hunter reached a record high in its opening weekend. The JC Chandor-directed film, which follows a hunter who uses his bond with animals to help exact revenge on his criminal father, is the latest chapter in Sony's Spider-Man Universe, which includes the commercially successful film Poison trilogy, as well as the critical and commercial failures Morbius and Lady Teia. Put Deadlinefrom Saturday morning, Kraven the Hunter is projected to end its opening weekend with a 3-day domestic gross of between $11 and $12 million. That's not enough for the film to unseat the remaining Thanksgiving hits Moana 2 and Evilthat maintain their positions at the top of the chart. Additionally, got the worst opening weekend of the entire franchisefalling below the previous record holder, which was Lady Teia with a debut of US$15.3 million.
